Good lord when will Wyrds webstore be back up? and does anyone know when other retailers will have the set available?
Its been like two weeks since gencon ended and their site has been down due to: 'Adding Gencon Shinies' seriously? how hard can it be?

A post on their forums claimed that they were doing it because they didn't want to have to box up extra orders before they had finished boxing and shipping the orders that came in during gencon. They were apparently going to finish that on Tuesday their time, then get the store back up and go on with regular work.

As to date of these guys in store, no idea, sorry.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Estimations are November/December, last I heard, for when some of the sets will hit retail. Some might even be January/February.

Someone never heard of "beating the iron while it is hot," eh?

I'm with you motyak... I do not follow.. or you could say: nope I have never heard of "Beating the iron while its hot"

I don't think it's good business to have the store down this long.. why take the whole store down just to add product? unless you're overhauling the entire store, but even then you could keep the old store up until the new one is ready.

Oh the phrase makes sense, I just have no idea how it applies to the Hired Guns box. But that's probably me just being dense than it being used wrong.

And they did it so that they didn't have people placing orders thinking it would come soon, when they were packing Gen Con orders for, what, 2 weeks? Imagine if you placed an order at some point, didn't get it in a week, emailed them and they replied with 'oh yeah we'll get to yours after these orders that got placed a week ago in a huge lump'. I can't imagine that'd go down well. I mean I'm annoyed because I have no idea how my Gen Con order is coming because the store is down, but that's a different kind of annoyance to yours.

For what its worth, the store is back up, though none of the gencon items are available.

One thing to keep in mind, the end consumers are not Wyrd's biggest customer, retailers and distributors are. New items, like the gencon stuff, typically is not available on their store until retailers have had the items available for sale for at least a few weeks. This keeps the retailers happy, as they get to be the first to offer items. Happy retailers mean more shelf space and more desire to support the game, which is critical to growing the presence of the game.

Maybe wyrd wants you to support your FLGS?

Beating the iron while it is hot in the sense that you release some of the stuff close to Gencon as possible to keep interest up. Not discourage fans from purchasing for more than 2 weeks. Or release great art and then nothing for months. Now they are letting interest cool.

Edited for quoting mishap.

I see what you're saying now. However just keep the gencon products off until they are ready. I really wish I could keep my flgs in business but where I live it is about 65 miles to the closest store that sells Malifaux, and even then they don't carry much and claim Wyrd lags in customer service. That they have trouble getting much from Wyrd because the guys at Wyrd are lazy. I dunno and maybe its issues on the flgs end rather, but consistency would be nice from one or the other.

Same here. Only one FLGS that I am aware of, and they don't carry much. I'm better off ordering online from meeplemart, which is still a Canadian business, but still.

Or maybe the new releases are all about TtB?

It's not issues on the LGS. Mine is the biggest store in Australia (when counting its online presence) and they also have said that since the switch to plastic, restocks are always late and no real expected delivery time until they hit their door. Before when they used all metal, it was like clockwork every month.

So while an issue, it sounds like there's an issue with their plastic producer as well (Wargames Foactory I think?).

Naw, it's Wargames Factory. I know nothing of this Wargames Foactory you speak of.

I just talked to my friend who is the "ordering guy" at our FLGS. He said his distributor is having trouble getting product from Wyrd. I guess it's just that time of year, post Gencon madness.

If anyone wanted Hired Guns they should have bought it at GenCon. Wyrd was very up front when they stated that these boxes may not be available for general release for months. This is historically accurate as well. 2013 Gencon saw the release of the Children of December/Rasputina box, those who didn't purchase it in August during Gencon had to wait until December when it released.

The hardest part for my Gencon order was trying to gamble on what month stuff was being released at, and whether I wanted to wait that long.

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!
