I was looking at some of the old army books for fantasy and some of the new codex's for 40k and I got to thinking, how likely is it that in the 9th edition army books is it that they will change how the unit entry pages look and go for how they are doing it in the 7th ed 40k were each page is a data sheet, I think in fantasy they are called battlescrolls, instead of what we have now with more fluff some art work and the rules? What would the pros and cons of such a change be? The recent Nagash book seems to be following this so it might be a portent of what is coming.

Keep 40k away from my fantasy. I quit 40k for fantasy & if they try to implement a lot of the 40k stuff in fantasy I'll quit fantasy too.

This isn't a rant against GW. I just hate the direction 40k went in soo much so that I quit. I don't want fantasy to go the same way.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

He's talking about the rulebook layout, not gameplay mechanics.

As am I. Full page pictures so they can cut content for "supplements" and "data slates".

Removing characters they don't have a model for. Not releasing anything new (ala dark eldar, my old army)

Supplements that cost the same as the full edition.

I too left 40k for fantasy and I dont want 40k anywhere near, keep the dataslates and other bullshaza away from this, im not spending 50 pounds for a lothern, khorne, or nuln or some other stupid supplement like for 40k.

Exactly Chaos. I'd be more inclined if the "supplements" were smaller & only $33 like the heraldry books. Then they'd at least feel like a supplement. Granted I'd honestly rather just see codexes / armybooks go up to $10-15 and include the extra 4-6 pages.

Mind you I'd much rather they not go up at all, but I'm trying to remain realistic.

Heraldry book for those who don't know: (http://www.amazon.com/Uniforms-Heraldry-High-Elves/dp/1782530134/ref=pd_sim_sbs_b_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0JMT58426W2E441SRHQ1)

I quite like the Nagash format. Personally I'm hoping people will be able to pick up a thick army lore, heraldry, and art book and a thinner army rule book. Although ideally sold separately and obviously available on a less transient basis than the End Times stuff has been. To me its a good format.

~300 pages of art and background. ~100 pages of rules and pictures. Then a ~400 page tie in novel focusing on some of the special characters from the book.

For people who just want the rules they can have that option. For those who want the lore they can dive into that.

Who is Barry Badrinath?

The way units are laid out in Nagash and Glotkin is quite nice.

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.
