Hi all,

I'm new to Infinity and I've decided to go with Haqqislam because I love the models. I was hoping some of you more experienced players would give me some advice my choice of models and especially what it may be lacking i.e. what models I should consider to make a well balanced list . I don't expect anyone to write a list for me but any ideas on shortcomings or units I might not need for a small 150-200 pt list would be much appricated. Also I think my choice of Lt may be a problem as it will be obvious and draw a lot of fire. I was thinking the relgious special rule should off set a Lt kill a bit or maybe I should make a Ghulam the Lt to hide him.

I currently have;

3 x Ghulam Infantry (Rifle + Light Shotgun)
2 x Naffatun Heavy Flamethrower
1 x Haquislam - Feuerbach
1 x Hassassin Lasiqs (Viral Sniper)
1 x Hassassin Ragiks (Hacker)

My general plan for a list is to;

use the Ghulams and naffatun for cheap troops/orders.
Use the Lasiqs for sniping and doing a lot of the killing
Use the Haquislam - Feuerbach for HI and TAG killing
Use the Hassassin Ragiks (Hacker) as a compact jump unit to hack or go on killing sprees behind enemy lines using the V.Dogged rule
Use the Asawira Regiment (Spitfire) as a Lt and killy unit (also I love this model to death)

Any ideas from more experienced players would be great as my experience is mainly from guide online and watching BatReps.

Cheers

Did you mean an Azra'il with Feuerbach? There is no unit named Haquislam, unless it's a translation thing.

Personal advice - swap the Lieutenant to one of your Ghulam. The Asawira is going to be in your opponents face, and if he dies (and he will - Asawira aren't really that tough) you're in Loss of Lieutenant and probably losing the game. Using one of your Ghulam instead means he's safely in your backline, and your opponent won't know which of the three he is (this is not information you give your opponent).

The Azra'il with Fauerbach is a great ARO machine. People don't like walking their heavier stuff out when they might get smacked in the face with an AP+DA round, so make sure when your turn is over he's in a good position to get some ARO's in.

Your Naffatun are great 'trade' units. They're super cheap and have a heavy flamethrower. Don't be afraid to do a suicide attack with one if it means trading your 12pt unit for multiple enemy models because of that huge template.

What you seem to be lacking is attack vectors. Your stuff right now is good in a straight up fight, but you want to be able to surprise your opponent as well.

Some Kum riders will add a lot of speed and let you block LOS with smoke templates to let you move about better.
A Fiday will let you hide them right on your opponents doorstep and most likely annihilate some good juicy targets.
A Ragik will add AD3 to your options, so you can drop a Ragik where he's needed most.

Don't be afraid to try the more tricky units. They might not have a big, killy gun but they're really fun and add a lot of depth to the game.

A well balanced list is one that suits your playing style, so you need to play with a variety of lists-- use the models you have as proxies for a bit-- to see what you like best. Any list advice you get is useful only in very general terms, so use it as a guide, not as anything hard and fast.

That said, use the army builder http://infinitythegame.com/army/ or Aleph Toolbox ( an app for android, an extension for chrome or a web site at http://anyplace.it/ia/ia.html) to play around with ideas.

You'll need to proxy an Al Hawwa mini (sniper or hacker. I liked the sniper better so I use that as a hacker or sniper.) For a 150 list,

You will note I included the Hawwa again, because it has Camouflage and Infiltration, 2 things you absolutely need to learn to use, and it is a regular order.

Also to round out both lists, try a nasmat remote for the doctor. Very useful unit, especially for 3 points.
There is no one list to rule them all in Infinity.

Hawwa are great. I use the sniper far more than the 'better' Lasiq sniper because of its camo and infiltration. I'd use the Tuareg for its TO camo, but its an old model that I don't particularly like.

I really need to get a hold of a Hawwa hacker.
