I tested Taris for the 360 arc. It was usable, but not great.

Valdore from the Romulan Prawn and the Advanced Cloak is a lot better.

The ship then just keeps on destroying other vessels, turn after turn.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is a good ship, but it'll always be the "Third Choice" ship after the Scimitar and Valdore. And after you are done equipping those ships, you really won't have much left over for a D'Deridex. Or you could replace a Valdore with a D'Deridex, but let's face it, the Valdore is just a better ship.

I'll probably play this ship once or twice just to say I played it, but my standard Romulan Fleet will always be a Scimitar, Valdore, and if I have to, a Bird of Prey for the 3 ship minimum.

Picked this up today, great pack. Only thing stopping this being an auto include in my Romulan fleet is the lack of a tech slot.

Thanks. I'm wanted to make sure Haakona came with one for a large game I am building a list for, I don't want any repeat captains

Totally understand about the generics thing. The generic captain with the picture of Erika Benteen from the Lakota is still the only reason I want a Raven. At least until they give me an actual Erika Benteen.

Anyone else think it's weird that the Centurion captain card has a picture of N'Vek. So because both cards have different names we can have two cards of the same character in the same fleet. If he is unique why not make the captain N'Vek too or use a different pic it doesn't really bother me because N'Vek isn't that great of a crew card but its just odd.

So, I got the haakona, and I'm having a dickens of a time trying to brew up a list with it... instead of using the ship itself, I found myself using the Scimitar again with things from the haakona expansion. :/.

Of course, I'm building for Matter of Honor, so it does make sense.

But still, even when I'm not trying to brew for that, I'm having trouble finding space for it.

This is a problem with a lot of factions. Some ships are just clearly better/superior then a lot of other ships, and thus, you have a hard time NOT taking them.

For Romulans, it was the Valdore for a long time. Now, it's the Scimitar.
For Federation, it's gone through a couple evolutions, but it's currently a toss up between Voyager and Enterprise-E.
Dominion, it was the Galor class until the Battle Cruiser.
Klingon- the Negh'Var.

I fall into this "funk" all the time. I find all my Fed lists have a Sovereign, Intrepid, Defiant. All my Dominion lists always start out with a Battle Cruiser. Etc. etc. If you want to use a ship, you just have to force down the urge to take a "better" ship and play the one you want. For example, I have forced myself to play an all Breen Cruiser list. Was it all that good? No, I constantly found myself wishing for other things, but I made it happen, and you can too.

If your trying to maximize all 4 bouns dice your gonna have problems. Try to get a +2 ship bonus while having Donatra. might work out better.

I do agree with Tamwolf, its hard to get away fro the better ships.
