When I scroll over Thread Tools drop-down menu, all of the options become empty/black and do not function as links. I'm using Chrome.

I just tested that, and it works fine for me.

Mine are still blacked out but now work as links.

Have you cleared your cache? Graphical corruption is usually a cached object issue.

They're working for me, also chrome.

Works for me, too, on a different comp, so it must a cache thing.

That also happens to me on my iPhone 6.

Did a refresh of my cache, but the problem still persists for me on Chrome.

ah crap looks like chrome has had an update which breaks the code there :( I'll add it as a priority to-fix

Yes...on a computer. I'm using mobile chrome on a nook hd plus right now.

yeah all webkit browsers will be slowly affected. Dont worry about posting more here, I'll get it sorted

I've been investigating this for a few hours now and think that it is likely a browser / webkit bug. The links are still functional, just invisible which is very buggy behaviour as opposed to being a CSS/javascript glitch on our end. I'm going to give it a couple of months for them to find and work out as the alternative is rewriting all of the header code which I just dont have time to do right now and test on every possible device.

The problem happens when you put your cursor over the text of a link itself in the drop down menu

There are four workarounds for now:
1. mouseover the thread tools drop down but avoid running your cursor over the links you dont want to click on. Only mouse over and click on the link you want to load.
2. Click the 'switch theme' link if the dropdown vanishes. This resets the browser's click/mouseover state and makes it appear again
3. Change to a different theme - the classic and worksafe themes appear unaffected (even though the code is practically identical save for different font sizes and colours)
4. (best option) Instead of just moving your mouse over the drop down links, click on them and this will lock them open and prevents the links from vanishing. Same should happen on iphone/iOS when you tap them. If the links vanish, double click the drop down menu title and they will be reset and then they wont break again until the page is changed or reloaded.

On mobile devices, dont forget you can swipe right on the dakka logo to bring up a larger and more clickable menu for sub-menu links as well.

I tried clearing my cache and the box is still going black if I try and move the mouse at all. (on chrome)

Switching the theme does seem to work but makes my eyes bleed The mobile friendly option still causes the drop box to vanish.

Just a heads up, it's fixed for me now.

found the walk arounds myself...but i try to fix my cache nevertheless...
