What do you think? I personally am asking this because I had my WoC army book for 2 days and 3/4 of the army pages (with points of model and upgrades and stuff... the important part really ) Fell out. It wasnt being jerked around or anything. I just lifted the book and out they came... Now I have had other books for about 5 years... its not in the best condition but the pages havent really come loose at all. I also have a friend that had his daemons army book for like a week and pages from the army section were falling out... Its getting kind of annoying and Im just curious as to what you think... Raised prices for lesser quality imo.

All of my codeci are in excellent condition...errr, at least the bindings are. My brother recently purchased a DE codex and had a good fifth fall out of the middle. My father's SM codex had the Troops and Fast Attack sections of the army list fall out after maybe a week.

It happans, and then they hand you a new one. I don't have a problem with it.

God, I had that problem with my new WoC book, too.

I haven't had any problems with 40K books, though. I've got new Orkz and new Guard, both Codexes are in great shape...

Excatly what happened to me too.
My "new" SM Codex has broken and new Ork Codex. And the pages just fell down from the spine. But why?
a) they were printed in China or Turkey
b) new GW books (don't know about old ones) are only being glued to the spine. Not anything else.

However, my Lizardmen book (printed in China) is on very good condition.
I'm ashemed of GW now even more.

Nothing new. This sort of stuff happened way back with Rogue Trader. My WoC book is on the verge of falling apart too. Somehow my WFB Rulebook is still in tact, but it's on its last legs.

Half the pages of my copy of the General's Compendium fell out before I'd done two naval battles. I've had my Orks Codex since it came out, but I've only been using it for the last six months and now two pages are falling out. I witnessed pages falling out of peoples' space marines codex minutes after buying it. What's sad is that I have white dwarf issues from the early 90's that are still intact.

Yeah this really sucks. I was sort of hoping we were just having bad luck with our books but its not too good to hear everyone else is havign the problems.... Isnt too cool that they raise prices on the fething books but they have terrable quality...

You could just take it back for an exchange? It's a quality issue so i'm sure they would replace it.

All my codices and books from them have been fine, not a problem with them.

When I got the new SM dex and the Lizardmen army book they both started to fall apart within a week, but the guys at my local GW just swapped them for new ones when I took them back, and they seem to fine. It seems there must be a bad batch everytime they print them.

But can't fault the service, they happily replaced it and mentioned it happening to other people as well.

Oh, this is about the book itself falling apart, I thought this was another "I HATE CODEX ____" thread

Anyways...

A few books I used to have fell apart in this way, I found out the reason, if you open these plastic-paper books too far the spine is destroyed, pure and simple. I've been quite careful with my ork codex trying to keep it together. My friend got his AoBR book wet last week, and tried to fix it, but found that the pages...welded themselves together. Still, if your careful you shouldn't do too badly, I haven't had a problem yet, but time will tell.

All of my newer books are the same story. One time another Chaos player and I swapped our codexes and we could identify which one was ours by which pages were falling out. Sad that that's possible

I've never had a page come out of a GW product. I've been playing since 4th ed fantasy, and abused some of my books quite badly.

That said, as much abuse I subject them to, I don't break the spines.

I have seen a lot of people with the pages coming out of their books however.

I find it hard to believe that SM codexes are not holding up, they only get used about 1.5-2 years before GW writes them a new one...

I currently work in a printers and we produce books similar to the GW codex's. We have had the same problem but this only happens when the glue has gone out of date or the machinery used to bind the books is not used properly or is faulty (both unlikely), given that GW are experiencing this with new books I would hazard a guess that the company who does there printing are cutting corners and using old glue in there bindings.

There really is no excuse for this, regardless of the price charged, as a customer you should at least get a product that stays in one piece for longer than a week!

That would be a Pony no?

Is there an excuse for it? Nope. But sadly that's the risk you run when outsourcing anything, you have to trust that the third party are doing things to a decent quality.

Wonder how many people have E-Mailed GW about this failing? Complaints about quality, particularly on third party supplied goods are most likely welcomed. And after all, if GW don't realise the scale of the fail (See what I did there?) then they will keep on using said company.

Oh arr. If you find the cover coming away from the pages, just use a smidgen of PVA glue. Holds it together nicely.

They will only change supplier if there is a saving for them or they stop selling codex's because the quality gets that bad.

I am forced to order stock from a supplier who is so incompetant they make Frank Spencer look like a safe pair of hands, however my company insists on still using them because there prices are very similar to the noise a budgie makes.
