  • Ok the Idea is to March the Ghouls forward to to immediately put pressure on my opponent. The Vampire Lord and his Blood Knights will form the Center of the line looking for the hardest nut in the enemy's army. The Corpse carts will keep in line with the ghouls to considerable boost their combat potential with "Miasma of Deathly Vigor".

I really like Crypt Ghouls; T4 and a veritable bucket load of poisoned attacks. They will bear the brunt of enemy infantry and with the help of the Corpse Carts and the Grave Guard attempt to lock the my opponents in combat so my Generals unit can have the freedom to charge where the devastation it will reap will have the most affect.

The grave guard will escort Konrads crazy ass to the front line. I'm willing to brave Konrads unreliability for the chance of him wiping our 15 enemy models in one round of combat. Also Having the BSB in this unit will cut the chances of him feeling stupid.

All comments and constructive criticism is welcome.

    Spokane, WAAAAAGH!

Im a total n00b to warhammer. But Im starting VC and the i have a couple questions on some aspects of your list.

    1. Both the wight king and mannfred are in the black knight unit? it seems like you might be putting too much power in a single unit. That squad comes to like 1000 pts. that seems a little excessive. but if not what is the King doing?

    2. Are you worried at all about not having another equal threat to mannfred? I mean he is a powerful individual. But I wonder if that is your lynch pin. and if an enemy could destroy him. (highly doubtful) the rest of the army couldnt pose a sizable threat.

As far as the rest of the list goes. Crypt ghouls are awesome and they will easily turn the tide of tarpits. I think you might be spending alot of time Neheking those units.

Try it out! I wanna hear how it did!

Well... to be honest, a small army of VC is no problem. The amount of times I end up stuck in combat with zombie popping out of the ground is ridiculous...

In my opinion though, I would try to fit a corpse cart somewhere or another.

    What? Did you mean aren't?

Considering what VC are capable of this seems like a pretty soft list to me.

Yeah you have the regen banner but you have no book of arkhan (the best general use magic item for VC imho) and no helm of commandment to make the poor WS of your unit better. Hitting on 4s with the two units that are ment to do all the killing will hurt you. You also have no wraiths, no corpse carts no way to make your units of ghouls larger, poor magic for an 2000pt VC list and a super expensive character that doesnt really do much more than a level 4 vampire lord.

The grave guard could use the banner of the barrows. Even without the helm it means that they will hit on 3s, which will really help them. If you just want a unit to escort a character then expensive grave guard arent the answer.

Your knights could similarly use royal banner of the strigos. They hit hard but at only WS3 they wont hit often without help.

Finally Black Knights aren't fast cavalry.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Ok, so they aren't that's obviously settled now, I agree with the lack of magic, and for a "bodyguard" unit for a vampire, Blood Knights seem to be the logical, albeit expensive choice for a mounted character, especially over Black Knights.

I can see where you are going with Konrad, but without keeping the Wight King with BSB or the General nearby, he is going to fail those stupidity tests almost as much as trolls, however, if he gets into combat, you just know your opponent will beg for a quick death.

I wouldn't throw your GG and Skeleton warriors in against just any enemy units, as skeleton warriors for example are basically 8pt goblins in combat and are really only good as bogging units, I would leave the Crypt Ghouls for that, mmmmm.... poison attacks, it makes my stomach hurt.

Yeah, im gonna have to go with the above posters and agree on the whole magic phase. I would just drop mannfred and get a combat focused vampire lord and toss in a corpse cart or two. Unless Mannfred gets into combat you're only gonna have 6 power dice a turn which means your magic phase will probably get stuffed by most opposing players who just have a scroll caddy. If you go against a high magic army your current magic defense is only 4 dispel dice which isnt gonna do a whole lot.
