I don't know if this is the right place for this but here it goes...
Dose any one Geocache? If not check it out
I was on a hike today (with a sprained ankle btw, because I'm cool like that!) and thought why not make a warhammer travel bug (a geocashing item that travels around the world) we could attach a gw miniature and when ever a fellow geocashing wargames player finds it he (or she ) exchanges it with on of his (or hers ) and it keeps moving... until it goes around the world and maybe to warhammer world (there's a geocashe by the giant space marine)
Any body like this idea, I thought it would be cool to see how far it could get, and how many geocachers are there who play warhammer?

I don't know how successful this might be. You're looking for a niche hobby within a niche hobby. Do that many people even have GPS's?
Its also heavily trust based. Models and knick-knacks are very different things to be using, I think.

Well I don't mean give up your Logan Grimnar or Chaos terminator lord, just a night goblin (which I put in caches all the time because I never use them) or extra space marine, or guardsman.
Hey I just realized that this is the 4444 thread on dakka discussions, WHY IS THIS UNDER TOURNAMENTS!!!

Do I want to play hide and seek via GPS coordinates, using WH40k models as 'not really prizes'? No, I do not.
How accurate are GPS units now? It seems like it would be incredibly hard to actually find many of these things.

I'd do it, but I don't think it would be as productive here in the U.S., especially where I am. My state is bigger than the entire country of England by it self, and you could fit all Warhammer players in one large room.
To much geo, not enough caching. Nuff Said.

Should be accurate to within 10 meters with a good connection to sufficient satellites. For something other than road navigation, I've only ever used a PLGR and it sucked.
Hmmmm, I wonder how you convert from Lat/Long coordinates to an 8-digit grid coordinate like you'd find on a military map? I've never had to do that before. *off to Google*
