I have almost finished creating my first Death Guard army. Here is what I am looking at:

Typhus
Daemon Prince, MoN, Wings, WT - 175

Terminators x5, MoN, TC, CF, HF, C-MGx4 - 240

PM x7, PC, PF, PI, Fx2, Rhino - 251
PM x7, PC, PF, PI, Fx2, Rhino - 251
PM x7, PC, PF, C-PG, PI, PGx2, Rhino - 281

Oblit x2 - 150

The idea is to keep the oblits and Typhus/Terminators in reserve, and deep strike them in on the icons to support where needed (all three can handle just about anything threatening my PM's). Most people seem to like meltaguns on Plague Marines, but I figured I had enough AT between the oblits, DP, and Typhus/Termies w/ C-MG's, so I went for flamers instead. The Plasma PM's are there to hold an objective, while the two Flamer PM's are there to take and then hold objectives. The Daemon Prince is meant to draw fire from the Rhinos and support the Plague Marines in hth.

Yes, I know Typhus is incredibly expensive for what he does and therefore is not the most competitive of choices, but I love the model and fluff. But I can always take him and those last 27 pts out to make a more competitive 1500 pt list.

I have 27 pts left - I was thinking about adding A) one Havoc Launcher and two Combi-bolters for the three Rhinos, B) two Plague Champions Combi weapons (not sure which type - melta or flamer) and one Rhino a Combi-Bolter, or C) drop a Terminator Champion upgrade and then add one more termie w/ Combi-Melta. Any suggestions on what I should do with this last 27 pts?

It just seems short on Troops to me. With 2 expensive HQs and a squad of Terminators, you don't have enough points for the rank and file Troops.

I would change out Typhus for another Nurgle Daemon Prince w/Wings, WT.

DP is ok.
Typhus is a points sink, esp. when not delivered by LR...but with a LR he's a bigger sink .
Termies, they purchase Icons not marks, as a hybrid squad to bodyguard Typhus...eww.
Non-fearless and more shooty which means no running, which means the intial drop will be in nice pie plate formation and less likely to get to combat.

Plagues are generally ok, but I prefer 2:1 in meltas to flamers, then a forth with plasma.

Oblits are ok, but past 1850, I think you should look into using that last slot with something armored.

I like twin vindicators in the oblits slots....

27 points you say? Upgrade some of those flamers to plasmaguns. Plague Marines with plasmaguns = awesome.

Also keep in mind that Typhus gets his own roll for deep striking, so he might not come in at the same time the Terminator squad. That could be troublesome.

For the sake of gratuitous violence, imagine if you took Typhus' points, and a few of your 27 extra and turned them into two 10 man Lesser Daemon squads. Now you have 5 units that can hold down an Objective, and if any of your PM squads get in trouble, BAM! 10 guys with 2 attacks each, and a 5++ drop from the sky... then join in on the assault in the same turn!

Typhus and the terminator squad do not fit this list at all. Typhus is a huge point sink and another daemon prince would be far more beneficial and cheaper. As Sanctjud mentioned there is no good way to deploy Typhus unless he is in a landraider, which costs even more points. Currently 465 points are being put into typhus and his terminator bodyguard. There is almost no chance they will be worth their points. The second they deepstrike they will be focused and die a quick death.

Add another Nurgle DP like you already have. This leaves 290 points. This could be used for termicide, perhaps a defiler to add a big fire magnet, more troops. Anything really.

Definatly try to include some summoned Daemons in your list, they simply kick-ass, people who don't know chaos never expect them to be able to assault on their arival.
I like typhus aswell, such a cool character, although hes alot of points, possibly use his points for more Daemons.
