Wyrd Miniatures, LLC is proud to announce the upcoming release of the Malifaux Rules Manual. This comprehensive play aid will include all the rules, updated with current errata, diagrams and detailed examples of frequently asked questions, as well as all of the encounters for the popular Malifaux skirmish game in an easily referenced compact form (5.5"x 8.5").

This addition to our product line is great for players to keep alongside their rulebooks. The existing rulebooks are still essential to Malifaux as they contain the miniature statistics and story arcs, but the portable size of the new Rules Manual makes it easy for everyone to have the key points in one compact manual for quick reference.

This guide will be available in early 2011 as both a full color printed book which will retail for $15USD, as well as a free PDF, which will have much less content, but will make the core rules accessible to anyone that would like to try out the rules before diving into the rich background of Malifaux.

While its nice to see a smaller cheaper rulebook, I think this really sucks for those of us who spent nearly 4x that amount to buy the core rulebook and Rising Powers.

Excellent! This is great news!

The small portable rules will allow me to look up the difference between "Hard to Wound" and "Hard to Kill" for the millionth time without consulting the rulebook.

Plus, a free .pdf will allow people to more easily get into the game.

It's so much easier to have a printout on-hand when introducing a game rather than forcing a hapless gamer to look through a book.

How many people play 40k or fantasy shell out money for the starter boxed each edition for the little rule book? At minimum I see most people paying around 15 on the after market. I think that this is an ace move by the company. Many players have been demanding a revised rule book for awhile.

Now playing & at Guardian Games or Ordo Fanaticus Club Night

I think that giving the core rules free online is the more important of this deal. You get the models rules with them and this lowers the threshold to try the game out.

I'll be shelling my euros on the small rule book as it is just what is needed when playing. The larger ones are for browsing at home with a cup of something nice in front of fireplace.

Sounds great.

Now if only they had something to say about that card terrain.
