He is far to expensive when you take into account that it means no lvl4 and you have to take his swords

Cost is his main problem. For him to exist, you are playing in a high enough point game that people have access to a lot of silly-powerful stuff.

Not only that, but you can just throw fodder at him, and yeah, he can chew it up for 5 rounds, but who cares? That's what fodder is for.

If you have a zillion point spellcaster, it's much harder to stop him from being a zillion point weapon. A zillion point melee combatant who runs into a 15 rank skaven slave pile, is basically made worthless. And as said above, about once a round he will kill one of the unfortunate teammates next to him.

EDIT: ^ that all sounds worse than it is, maybe. He is still crazy hard to kill. He's very fast (though will likely be with a unit). And can cast a bit.

I agree with the above. He's very expensive and while he can certainly dish out he hurt, his cost is tremendous.

However, he has the bonus of being a spellcaster, and is dead 'ard. I'd say that the level 4 Tzeentch Sorceror Lord is better, due to utility and magic, but I could imagine him working out.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.
