Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Here is what I would buy to start out with.

2 Battalion Boxes(Gives you 12 Bulls, 12 Ironguts, and 8 leadbeltchers), Firebelly(cause he's awsome), and 2 boxes of Mournfangs.

however, you don't need 8 Leadbeltchers so you can assemble 2 of them as a Bruiser BSB and a Slaughter Master(really easy conversion)

Bulls(or Ogres as they are called now) should have Ironfists. XHW is never worth it.

Mournfangs should also have Ironfists(and heavy armor)

That will give you around 2000 points for pretty cheap.

I disagree with grey templar. 8 is the perfect number of leadbelchers, as it gives you a unit that dumps out a ton of shooting (28 shots average), but also hits hard enough that it can hold it's own in combat. 24 S4 attacks, 4 impact and 4 stomps is miles ahead of 16/3/3. Being able to absorb 5 wounds instead of 2 before losing a rank bonus is nice as well.

Either way 6 or 8 leadbelchers is a personal choice depending on how you like it. His suggestion for two army boxes is quite good as it will give you a great nexus to build around.
