Here is my first attempt at an ork list while trying to keep the model count reasonable. The group is is MEQ heavy, few objective games.

HQ
-Warboss w/ Powerclaw and a Bike

Troops
- 12 CC boys including Nob w/ Boss Pole mounted in a truck
- 12 CC boys including Nob w/ Powerclaw and Boss Pole mounted in a truck

Fast Attack
- 5 Bikers including Nob w/ Boss Pole

Im trying to figure out how to deal with dreads and rhino rush... Suggestions welcome for a new ork.

That nob needs a klaw. trukks need a kff. Then bikers for rocket buggies as you need the shooty antitank, sometimes you can not wait to get into base to base contact with tanks.

I just assumed rockets were a waste of points at BS 5, how many do you need to get any hope of getting some work done?

Heres the redone list for more anti tank...

Wazdakka
12 boys w/ nob BP and PK in truck
5 Bikers w/ nob BP and PK
1 Def kopta w/ rockets
2 Looted Wagons w/ Big Guns

Not wild about the lone Def kopter w/ power claw but the Guns on Wazdakka will do work on the lower armor tanks at this point level.

If you are going for a low model count, try out two big meks, at least one with a KFF, and two dreads, with boyz/ bikes to fill the remaining points.

A KFF, a SAG, two dreads with KMBs, and a kan with KMB is almost 500 points after upgrades, and can make short work of nearly any vehicle you are likely to see at this point level. The remaining 250 can be spent on two min units of boyz in trukks to provide target priority issues for your opponents, or a larger unit of boys to tarpit the mobs that are a danger to your walkers.

What is your idea of a reasonable model count? Orks thrive on having lots of Boyz. In smaller games, I find the best competitive list to have the lowest amount of models is the kanwall.

Typically, a Kanwall in a smaller point game will consist of 1 Big Mek w/ KFF, 6-9 Killa Kanz, 1-2 Deff Dreads, and 20-40 Boyz. You can add Lootas or other support as well.

Im attempting to build this list with the leftover tanks wreckage from the past decade of this hobby, which has led me to an ork army with the hope of turning these torn up models into an ork speed freak list.

Im trying to avoid spamming boyz because i get lazy moving all those models (thus the smaller model count).

I was hoping a mobile list would provide a chance for me to have more flexibility in my playing style. However ive never made an ork list before so this may all be totally off beat.

I could lose the def kopta but i didnt know what else to lose to get the big mek with the KFF. But is the KFF worth is for only one truck?

Thx ahead of time for the help, i know this low point stuff can be constrictive.

In a 750 list, you need more boys on the table. If you really want to run Speed Freaks I would look at something like,

HQ
Big Mek w/KFF (85)

Troops
10x Boyz
1x Nob W/BP and Pk
Trukk
(141)

11X boyz
1x Nob W/BP and PK
Trukk
(147)

11X boyz
1x Nob W/BP and PK
Trukk
(147)

Fast Attack
6x warbikers
1x Nob W/BP and PK
(215)

That's 735 and gives you 4 solid units, all benefiting from permanent cover saves to get you across the field and deliver those PK's where they will do the most damage. In a small points match I would steer away from pie plates that scatter as far as Boomwagons. Due to the fact that if you blast one of your own units, while hilarious, it's not super competitive. If you are worried about AT you can always upgrade your trukks to run with Rokkit launcha's or field one Rokkit Buggy.

rocket buggies or koptas are twin linked. Ammo runts for kannons and kans have BS3.

5/9 chance to hit for the buggies. At this price you can face armies of about 3 pieces of mech like dreads or what not. If they sit back and shoot, or in the case of dread they like cc then you have to shoot them. Virtually the only shooty antitankk goodness is rockets, then rockets will be good against the MEQ with ap3 and st8 to deal with FNP when the mech dies. So let's say you want to be able to face 3 bits of armour and you want to a hit on each so that would be about 6 rocket buggies. Rocket buggies are fast and av10 so fit your trukks well.

85 kff(as cover saves are awesome)
147 12 trukk boyz
141 11 trukk boyz
70 2 rocket buggies
70 2 rocket buggies
70 2 rocket buggies
This gives a number of points on up grades or on your warboss.

Wazdakka is really special. You will not need kff with him, bikers have cover saves and can cover a trukk.
