Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

To all it be known, I hereby with the authority of a co-founder do declare that today My Way Miniatures and its online store are officially open for business!

With this fancy proclamation aside, I am really happy to welcome you to our official thread here on Dakka.

"We" are Storag and Ish, both been here on Dakka for a while. You may have seen our works at P&M blogs section or in the Gallery. Recently we decided to team up for something more than just a random project here and there to bring our hobby to a new level.
Check out those links to get acquainted with our works: TMNT, Grot looter, Sci-Fi Ronin and SM with assault cannon.

We proudly invite you to visit our newly opened store and, maybe, even buy something

There are only two models right now but we work hard to bring more.

Here are some pictures of what we're working on at the moment:

Please, feel free to leave comments on our work, store and any suggestions you might come up with here!

Love the potential of the conquistador.

I'm assuming there will be more bits? It is a multi-part kit? Give us more! Not just a link, sell yourself!!!!

You've asked for it!
Indeed, this gunner is a part of a five-men squad of such shooters.
Actually, we have a lot of plans on this Conquistadors theme: a few different types of troops, several heroic characters, some bits, probably.
As well as some meat for their guns to shoot at... err, I mean some proud Aztec-like warriors to stand against those brave adventurers!
Well, stay tuned. We definitely will have more to show and offer with time!

I really like that conquistador! I can only imagine how swashbuckling Sgt. will look. I've been wanting to do a Rogue Trader themed IG army and this will work nicely.

What is that first model? it kind of looks like Dragonball Z in power armor.
Also, be careful using GW pieces in your sculpts/molds. You're better off making your own backpack. As CHS can attest, they get a bit rambunctious about things like that.

(Not trying to turn this into a GW bash or GW vs. CHS thread... just giving a friendly warning about using GW parts)

Eric

P.S. I really like that SM with assault cannon. You going to make that available?

Good advice.
I get the impression the first model is an "Aztec" themed SM chapter?

I am VERY intrigued by the idea of custom bits. How do you do this, and how is it priced, etc?

@ MagickalMemories
Thanks for the warning Eric, but we're using parts from other manufacturers only as a convinient "backbone" to sculpt over. They won't be visable unless intended and be sure that's not the case
Never thought about Dragonball Z resemblance, really funny This project started long ago as an Aztec themed conversion but with time deviated in to fairly independent thing with proper backgroud concept.

We have plans to try out an idea of an universal minigun set with backpack and hands for conversion purposes.

@ alarmingrick
As I said to Eric - it was, but as you can see on a scale shot below, this figure is much larger with more realistic proportions than GWs SMs. Even the armor with its muscle-fiber underlay is much more slick and closer to modern sci-fi concepts. We have no intentions to mimic GW property in any real way but it's hard not to cross with their designs and concepts as they've long become somewhat of a cliche and we kinda grew on them

GW Space Marine for size reference only

@ Theo
Hi there mate! With your purchase it'll be +1

@ catharsix
Much like other studios, like Brother Vinni, do - we're always open for orders but prices are individual based on ammount of work and time limits. Meanwhile we make things that we like

@ LDD
Cheers m8! As planned - few giant lords and more lesser slaves with a bit of earth and blood "magic" thrown in. And sure there be lots of real life and historical reference to them. Don't forget to leave at least a link to your review of our stuff

Oh, hang on a sec. If you're doing more realistically-proportioned supersoldiers in power armor, would you be interested in doing more generic, unadorned suits that customers could add to? The Aztec theme isn't doing it for me personally, but I'd be interested in other themes.

My concern for you is the GW backpack on the Aztec model. Unless you plan on sculpting over it (then, nevermind), you're going to run afoul of them pretty darn quick.
It looks like the body of the Aztec marine is a completed piece. That's why it looks to me like you're looking a GW piece on the backpack.
The check piece looks familiar, too, but I can't place it. Something Chaos, maybe?

What about the Assault Cannon guy? Will he be available? Right now, he's the only model I could work into any of my armies.

@ Guildsman
I don't think so. There are lots of generic power-armored humanoids on the market already.

@ MagickalMemories
As I said. Backpack is W.I.P. only the upper "horns" section is complete. Everything else is a subject of change. The chest piece is our own sculpt. It's twice the size of GW chests. You may have seen it somewhere on Dakka as its first prototype is quite old.

With minigun the idea was to make not a"guy" but a gear set with "hands" so everyone can use it to make something like we did. The are many design issues with this so we thinking about a walkaround.

I like the design, and the overall proportions... but the height would make it a no-go in my book.

We need more regular humans scaled properly, rather than bigger Space Marines. Space Marine models are quite big enough.

I've started this as an Inquisitorial warband, but should suit the Rogue Trader theme too, I believe. And some swashbuckling is planned indeed =)

Oddly enough, though he is a Space Aztec, the finished model the face anyway reminds me of a certain world leader.
