Well according to the GW website "This kit contains includes an option for an Aspiring Champion and four heavy weapons including a missile launcher, a heavy bolter, a lascannon, and an autocannon."

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

If it's still the same kit, you're going to have to bitz order the weapons in order to get more than one of each.

the rumour mill was churning about a new plastic kit coming out with multiple weapon types. depends how urgent you need them, but could be worth waiting until the mythical "un-nerfing" supplement for csm arrives.

IIRC you get a 5-man-CSM sprue, the Champion sprue with the HB, and a lascannon, an autocannon and a missile launcher. the 3 single weapons are made of finecast.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

Just order them from the internet. There are still bitz suppliers who have rightly ignored GW's feeble attempts to crack down on them.

If I get a devastator box and just changed the heads and put one spikes here and there would it work?

Hold out if you can. The fine cast havocs are garbage. I ordered 2 sets and the quality is terrible.

Yes, actually. Very crappy picture but it possible to do.

These guys look cluttered, because I built them before I begun truescaling. It is, effectively, Devastators mixed with CSM bits, with a DV Chosen as champion.¨

Still asking myself if it is worth a lot of work to upscale them. Probably is. I will get to it eventually. Like my Raptors.

honestly the forgeworld heavy weapon packs from HH are a good deal. get a CSM box and a set of autocannons and/or lascannons and you're good.

Now, this is related to the rumours section, I would hold off for a while as it is rumoured that Chaos Havocs are coming out in August.

If this rumour is fake then I would suggest Space Marine Devestators and chaos them up with of course spikes.

DON'T EVER GET THE CITIDAEL FINECAST IT IS CRAP. Sorry for shouting.

Finecast is hit and miss, but regardless of that, Havocs aren't a great kit. You'll never want all four different weapons in one squad. Don't believe the rumor that they're coming out til we see pictures - we've been hearing talk for plastic Havocs since 5th edition.

Your best bets are to Chaos-up some Devastators, as has been posted. Here's some of mine:

Alternately, Forgeworld has great sets of heavy weapons in pre-Heresy armor styles, which look right with Chaos Marines:

It's what I did - mkiii iron armour and a set of autocannons is about £40, roughly what you'd pay for a dev box and the parts. You just need a chains word and pistol for the champ.

You're better off with just a box of tac marines and converted weapons/weapon bits from ebay.

The havoc kit is just five finecast marines with 1 of each heavy weapon, different arms depending on the weapon, and slightly different heads. You're paying more money for half the marines of a regular CSM box with a bunch of useless weapons. One of the most pointless kits I can think of.

Reiterating above posters. I bought loyalist bits for lascannons and slapped them on CSM. Desecrate them a bit and you're good to go. The gargoyle heads from various vehicle kits make for good conversion bits as well as the chains/spikes/horns as seen above. Recycle dem bits!

Plus, I'd note that desecrating loyalist stuff just like the actual havocs would do is a rather satisfying bonding moment with your CSM army.

I actually like the gw havoc models. I do wish it came with more than one of each type of heavy weapon though. Mine have metal weapons with plastic bodies though so they are top heavy as all get out.

Had to weight my Noise marines with metal weapons for the same reason. Nickels seemed to add enough weight and fit in a 25mm GW base. Anything lighter and I'd have problems.
