Tactics for the list? First looks at the list, FMC spam doesn't work anymore (well not very well), but if I knew your tactics then it might make sense.

Summoning units..... fly '24 and summon units. Primarily flamers of tzeentch and screamers.

18 power dice does work.

Right ok, the units you have for summoning are good because they're durable so will last at least 2 or 3 turns. My only issue is the only offensive abilities you have are the units you summon, since you have to play your psykers defensively you can't go aggressive and risk loosing warp charge. What level is the great unclean one?

The princes are actually insanely durable. 2+ jink save is retry great when you can do it all the time.

tactics actually change on who I play... I also tend to take psychic scream a lot and land later turns to charge.

Ok, it's not on the first post, so I was confused when you said 18 warp charge. I think if you play defensively for 2 or 3 turns and summon troops on objectives. So by turn 4 onwards you should still have the daemon princes left and hopefully the GUO in position to start charging in, and also summon in offensive units.

It's a shame you have to pay the GUO tax to take the nurgle daemon princes, and fateweaver is also very squishy. Id say remove both the GUO and fateweaver and just put the daemon princes as HQs and take some offensive stuff, but then the list doesn't work anymore. If you've got good tactics and experience with this list, then it should be an ok list.

Fateweaver gets the grimoire from the GUO so he is anything but squishy. The GUO typical rolls one for the malefic primaries power and twice on biomass for iron arm or endurance.

Fateweaver's ability to re roll a single d6 and the warp storm make him an invaluable asset on his own.

the princes usually land on turn 3, unless someone wounds one, in which case I use Fateweaver's re roll to try and ground the prince for the immediate charge the turn after.

I actually already played this list at the qualifier and scored 3 perfect games to win the event. In kill point games, this list is insane too.

Ah ok, the GUO isn't too slow then. Looks pretty solid then, with some strong tactics to back it up.

I usually build a list which is the least unreliable as possible. I also happen to play daemons, so the new psychic phase is a bit of a pain for me. I'm going to tournament in September and I'm running and no charge list, no idea how it's going to go, but the few games I've played have gone well.

I wanna hear more about this list and tactics tbh. You're doing well with it in seventh so far then? Which armies have you tried it against? I'm interested to see how it fares against a decent eldar army? Or imperial knights for that matter.

I've crushed Imperial knights by summoning pile of screamers and plague bearers....

Against eldar armies the princes and fateweaver get psychic scream with their third power to eliminate wraithknights and small bike units.

Yeah it's taken ages to find a list I liked. My basis for the list was flesh hound rush, but completely changed as I got more games in.

I gotta say, lately ive taken to allying CSM with my daemons so that my Daemon prince can get that spicy little spell familiar. I know it sucks needing to waste points on a troop choice to keep it battle-forged, but that re-roll makes summoning a DREAM.

While the spell familiar is great, the added survivability granted by two greater rewards on a Codex Daemon Prince is superior. Not to mention cheaper, and the Daemon one gets blight grenades.
