So I've been playing around with GK in the new edition and have been happy in some areas and disappointed in others. My problem is I can't quite get them just right. I want to run pure GK if possible although some henchmen or allies may be ok if it really is required. I've tried several different HQs and I think 2 librarians ends up pretty fantastic. I've tried them both ML 2 and 3 and haven't decided which I like better. I've played around with powers and running both sanctic has proven the most valuable IMO although I'm open to suggestions. As for units, I've found psyflemen to be lack luster since they can't obliterate tanks like they used to. Purifiers are solid. I have mixed feelings about NDKs as sometimes they just don't do anything. I've been testing purgation out because they have free incinerators. The a rhino and it's 140 points all those flamers. Seems worth it maybe, still messing with them. I've been running MSU for maximum psychic powers.

Anyway, long story short, I'm not completely sure what to do. I'm willing to do literally anything at this point as long as I can get as close to pure GK as possible. If you guys could help me with what units are best to take, what go together, and what I can do to win with this book that'd be great. Thanks.

- Interceptors and NDK work well together.
- Multiple NDK work well together.
- Strike Squads in Razorbacks make decent troops. Using combat squads can give you more flexibility.
- 5 Purifiers with 2 psycannons in a rhino is a personal favorite and highly effective.
- Stormravens with hurricane bolters, assault cannon and psybolt are nice gunboats and a hard counter to deadly psykers.

It might help if we know what units you're trying to work with.

Honestly, i know it might seem simple and boring but i personally can't see past using driago and using "pimped" Paladins + assassins + storm ravens + Dreadknights.

Thats my 2000 list in a nutshell, all units are mastery level 1 so plenty of warp charge… no need for libs.

After a long break from the game i came back into it about a year ago and started with GK; i initially could not win with this type of army but as i became used to its specific rules, i honestly can say i am very happy and now if i do lose its only by tactical mistakes rather than having a poor army choice……thats my opinion.

It really depends on what you are trying to do and what units you have a preference for that would determine the use. My personal preference is to use the shunting and DS abilities of the GKs to their fullest.

To this extent I have Interceptors and DKs who shunt in on turn 1 along with GKSS that DS on turn 2. I use Mordrak and his Ghost Knights to Alpha Strike on turn 1 as well without scatter...you place him wherever you want. To go along with Mordrak is a Librarian, there to cast things like Psychic Shriek, Invisibility and Shroud, along with any other Telepathy powers you get. I absolutely love this strategy and it puts a lot of opponents on edge as they see all these things show up in their backyard.

If you like armor, GKSS in rhinos work well for troop choices, as someone pointed out, Purifiers in Rhinos works better. Add some Stormravens as prescribed above. It's a strategy that works if you like that kind of thing.

Some anti-armor options we have is shunting DKs and Psyrifleman Dreadnoughts and Psycannons when the guy holding it doesn't move.
