I have been a GW addict for more than 15 years. The switch to Flames of War is a bit of a story, but it happened. GW lost it's appeal to me. I guess I am too old, 41 years old now, for even bigger plastic fantastic models. I started modelling when I was about 16 years old, 1:35 diorama's by Tamiya. Not having the money and skills I have now, it lasted only a few years. But I have always had an interest in the second world war. At first I was not so happy with the scale of 15mm. I am more a modeller/painter than a strategic mastermind, so I found the models (especially the soldiers) too small and not too realistic. But my friends, who live close by, had started FoW already. Bolt Action would suit my interests more I guess, but FoW has it's advantages also. But I digress. On to the subject of my post, the farmstead! I was looking for suitable terrain for my new hobby. A friend has a large Galeforce 9 collection of houses. But they lack character and detail imo, they are expensive and hard to come by due to problems in logistics (people waiting more than a year for a church). By chance I discovered the Najewitz range. I started with Normandy houses who are now out of production, but the maker has made a restart. He has a huge collection of 1:72 (20mm) buildings and is making more for 15mm, by converting his designs (scaling them down). I can only support that ambition!

I copied the doors to cover the rear. Not really neccesary, but if you look under the roof of the portal, it looks better.

The base for this building is from a Leitz letter tray which I purchased from a second hand store. €0,50. You can't get plastic card cheaper than that I guess.

More Najewitz terrain soon!

The painting isn't that difficult. It's the wash/ink that makes it stand out I guess. Undercoat chaos black, then some brown and grey colours. German pale brown (panzer ace colour range), stone grey, etc. I haven't got the bottles at hand at the moment, I use Vallejo paints. The ink is mostley the old GW dark brown ink/ dark green ink. But any wash will do. I will post step by step photo's with the next building I will paint.

Well, you don't stuff facts into the Right Wing Outrage Machine©. My friend, you load it with derp and sensationalism, and then crank that wheel.
