What codex/formation do you reckon you are using? To take a Farsight Enclave army you have to have a minimum of three crisis suits in one troop unit. I imagine this even goes for unbound armies (which this one certainly is).

Have a look at the allies section in the BRB. Pretty sure you can only ally with your own faction if you have codex specific permission (space marines).

this list isn't legal.

Your allied detachment cannot have the same faction as your main detachment, and tau=tau faction and farsight enclaves=tau faction..

There are many reasons this list is Illegal as written.

Farsight Enclaves(Tau Empire Faction) cannot ally with Tau Empire. Note BAO, NOVA, etc are allowing it.

Farsight Enclaves must have a 3 Crisis Suit Unit with Bonding Knives as Troops.

Firewarriors in a Farsight Enclaves detachment must have Bonding Knives.

O'Vesa is not a legal single HQ choice.

O'Vesa Cannot be taken without Farsight as he is part of Commander Farsight's Command Team.

Farsight would also have to be your Warlord meaning O'Vesa could not be part of your Allied Detachment and Farsight would have to be taken as part of a Farsight Enclave's Detachment.

To the OP: as others have said, this list isn't legal.

What you can do instead is just take two regular Tau Empire Combined arms CADs, and take Ethereals and 6 man groups of Firewarriors to fill your HQ and troops choices. This will give you ample room to field Riptides. You can easily fit 6 into an 1850 point list, including Stimulant Injectors, EWO and Velocity Trackers for all of them. Take Heavy Burst Cannons on one or two for Anti-air and anti-light-armor duty.

Ok so after reading i can do Farsight as an HQ with the riptide from the 8 as my second HQ,
then i can take 3 riptides in my elite spots and take a riptide with broadsides as a fireblade support cadre
and that would give me my five rip tides, Id like to take two units of 6 pathfinders for marker lights
and two units of 3 crisis suits as troops, i just dont know how to work it all in to be under 1850 points.

I don't think it's going to be possible for you to fit all of these things in under 1850. I tried and the best I could come up with without going unbound (including the things you want would be for 2000)

Also O'Vesa is not an HQ choice - he's part of an HQ unit just a clarification.

I wonder if we cut the path finders and do two units of two on the crisis suits if we can get it to 1850

You have to have one unit of three Crisis with Bonding for it to be legal Farsight Enclaves.
