I play Raven Guard, and intend to scout 12" up the field toward my opponent for a lethal Pre-emptive Melta Strike, or if I go second perhaps I will Outflank the Rhinos. Everything else is either AV 14 or has min 48" range. Look okay? I'm worried about Wraith Knights as I really have no immediate counter. Perhaps just ignore them?

Added a lvl 2 libby and a squad of ASM's for anti-hordes and to protect my Tactical Squads. In addition to using my rhinos as cover for my ASM, I have a Land Raider and two Stalkers (which will likely snap fire anyway, so they can move 12" and suffer no penalties) which will also make sure that they are not targeted. Any thoughts? At all? Please? :/

Whats the strategy here? would be handy to know briefly what each unit has been chosen for.

What do you plan on doing with your troops? Tank hunting or killing MEQs?

I usually scout my rhinos up 12" to get my combat squadded tacticals within rapid fire/melta range on turn 1. I might outflank if I go second.

Anyway my LR with Assault Centurions and Libby (Biomancy) go for my opponent toughest unit or his hordes, whichever fits. But they are there to handle anything hreatening while my Tacticals/Stalkers handle Armor/Air and secure objectives. The Assault Marines can move between the Stalkers and Rhinos for cover while taking out targets of opportunity with their 24" threat range (Raven Guard CT) and protecting my Tacticals from assault. If I can catch a vehicle or two with them then I'll go for it.

IA units are not allowd so Korvydae can't be taken and Shrike doesn't do much. I don't want to infiltrate ASM's because then they can't charge turn 1 anyway. :/

I do like the list!

I personally would make a couple of changes though, if your marines are sat on objectives do they need a powerfist or powerclaw? if theyre armed to the teeth with melta weapons I don't think youd have too much trouble dealing with oncomming walkers or nearby tanks looking to shift you away from the objective, or even any MEQ units looking to come and smack you in the face. You could perhaps take the points from the claws and give the assault squad some melta bombs or even a power fist to give them the ability to quickly react to and pick off tanks with dwindling HPs.

It's just a matter of what to do with the remaining points you'd have leftover, you could potentially get another assault squad in there if you dropped another upgrade here or there.

Just some ideas, I don't by any means know what i'm talking about!

Recieved a bit of interesting info today. A friend of mine is bringing 16 wraiths, and his friend is bringing a 760 pts C'tan gargantuan creature from Escalation, which can potentially murder an entire army by itself, and another friend is bringing 2 riptides. Things are going to get rough. Yeah... Uh... Anything I might want to rethink here? :s

Yeah rethink your whole life cuz ur army sux

On topic: Don't care about my army. There is just a tiny chance you play against me, and I would not try to counter anything in my list by changing something in your own. Trust me - that is something I have learned from Pokémon TCG. And about my friend who will be playing a really bad C'tan with Warriors list, he is going to play really bad and the army is bad as well. Most of the time, depending on the mission, you are better off just plowing shots into his Lord Of War to score 3 Victory Points for each wound you take...

You only know that about the 3 vps because I pointed it out. Besides I'm not particularly worried about you guys, but rather the other 100 players who might actually know what to do with these things. ;3

Besides, besides his Lord of War could simply table me in order to win without caring about a wound or four or how many VP's I've scored. And THAT could actually happen. The C'tan dude has 21 shots on average at bs 6(!!), str 8, ap3 and one mega blast template meteor shot at str 10/8/6 ap 1/3/5, oh wait did I mention his 18" beamlike D-strength attack? And let's not forget that toughness 9 and a 4+ invul. Damn! Should I NOT be worried?

T9 is pretty gross, but only a 4++? For an Escalation model, they should be somewhat beastly. I played against an Ork Stompa and was impressed by the amount of guns it had, but it justified the cost. Take Lascannons and/or Melta weapons and give it your best shot, you'll either miss your shots or he'll miss his saves to do anything.

T9 6W 3+/4++ and FNP 5+ AND can not be instant killed. Can also move 18" and cause D strength hit on everything I passes.

But I think as always it will be up to the dice. I miss to see Jump Marines in a Raven Guard army though. As a fluff unit.

This could work. I'd lose my ignore cover shots but would gain some much needed oompf. Have good anti-horde with my Assault Marines in the list. Could use the Stalkers as very effevtive cover if up against other units with enough range to target them. What do you think? Better?

Yeah, my bad. Sorry for misleading you. But that doesn't change the fact that the guy is scary, on the contrary! I now definitely feel that the lascannon devs are a good inclusion. :p

+ More, but also more reliable anti-tank/anti-skimmer (than the snap-shooting MM's, that is)
+ Better vs MC's and Elite choices, which are always popular
+ Can also give me a little extra Anti-air, always good

- No templates other than flamers left
- No ignores cover so Pathfinders will have to die to something else

Unless you foresee going up against a lot of Flyers (or Skimmers), you could swap out a Stalker for a Whirlwind to give you some Ignores Cover templates.

Actually, I forsee that most list will have 1-2 flyers for anti-air, if nothing else. Eldar/dark eldar/necrons will all have skimmers, so one stalker is a bit too little. Especially if up aganst Chaos Helldrakes/Storm Ravens/Vendettas. Many armies will probably have troops in flyers and I would really need a way to deal with that.

Though the Whirlind always sounded really fun. I play a lot of Orks... :p
