Hey guys!!
Our game group is still playing in Holland and I just finished up our raised roads.
I made them from 3/4" pink foam cut into 4" wide strip of various lenghts. Then I used contact adhesive backed step grip paper for the roads. Then various flocks on the egdes.

Small comment. I personally would like to see the colour of the road toned down a bit(less black). Perhaps a dry light brush of Dawnstone to tone it down and highlight the road surface ?

This exactly. Asphalt quickly loses its black color, like in a matter of days on heavily travelled roads. I would drybrush it with grey and weather it.

If you can, go for a brownish grey to represent dirt on the road as well as weathering.
