I normally pick my own themed armies, mainly around aspect warriors as I love the models, but thought I'd give the Lol/Mantarch a run out to see what I'm missing. I've just bought a Harlequin Jetbike model to make a conversion out of, so hope he's fun to play. Anyway, enough rambling here's the rest of my list, any tweaks you can suggest, other than moooooaaarrrr wave serpents?

Fire Dragons x 5, with Exarch Firepike and fast shot 135pts

Troops
Dire Avengers x 7 - Exarch with power weapon and shimmer shield. Wave Serpent with Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon and Holo Fields 266pts
Guardians x 10 with missile launcher and attached warlock 155pts

Fast Attack
Warp Spiders x 7, Exarch with Spinneret rifle and fast shot 168pts

Heavy Support
War Walkers x 3 with Scatter laser and Brightlance 210pts
Dark Reaper x 5, Exarch with fast shot and star shot missile 180pts
Falcon with scatter laser 135pts

This comes out as 1499pts, but I think the Fire Dragon Exarch is worked out wrong on my Battlescribe and don't have codex on me, if so I'll find the 5pts from some where. Are the Exarch upgrades across the army worth it, or am I wasting points?

So I guess you are looking to make a Harlequin themed army? Give your Farseer a jetbike, just to have him T4, put your dragons in a Serpent/Vyper, get some harlequins ofc ( I now they are not that good in 7th but we are going for the Harlequin theme right ? ) a unit of warp spiders that blink in and out taunting the enemy, and some war walkers with BL to deal with vehicles at long range. Paint them all in harlequin colors for extra awesome!

Also, Harlequin Jetbike model?? Why didn't I thought of that?? Amazing idea!

You've missed off the Jetbike and Mantle from the Autarch, but have included the points for them already.

You are correct that the points for the Fire Dragons is wrong, it's off by 10 points, but if you drop the Fusion Gun from the Autarch that covers it (personally, I don't think the Fusion is worth it as, with the changes to Jink, you'll be snap-firing it most of the time, but YMMV).

I generally only take the Shimmershield Exarch in a full 10-man squad, or if I'm buddying up with a character without an invuln (such as most Pheonix Lords), dropping those gives you points for two more Avengers (thus, six more shoots, and two extra wounds). If your meta has significant chances of Hellhounds / Heldrakes, it might be worth it to keep it in (the Power Weapon can be handy too, but probably won't save the day).

Oh yeah, forgot to label the two key components of the Mantarch's gear, whoops.

@humanas my army is actually Biel-tan focussed, mainly because after reading the fluff, the army ideology was what I liked about the Eldar collection. They use Aspect warriors the most, and summon the Avatar most frequent. The Avatar was first model I bought, shame I don't use him that much

I remember seeing an Eldar Harlequin dreadnought in White Dwarf when I was a kid, that had been converted using the canopy off the Harlequin Jetbike. (I still have the magazine if you don't know the pic I'm on about)I absolutely loved that model, and wanted to make my own one day. Trouble is, the model costs so much and doesn't really fit into theme of my army, but now I have a good excuse to buy it, and as I have some instamould, I won't have to ruin a vintage model to do my conversion (I hope). The model should arrive tomorrow, cost me £24 off ebay, at current GW prices, that's a bargain lol

The Fire Dragons are going in the Falcon I do have some Harlequins, I think I have one squad of everything in the standard codex (no FW stuff yet), but they've sucked when I've fielded them in battle.

I'd love a harlequin themed army, but I suck at painting and am struggling to paint my 7000pts in a basic colour scheme haha

@Quanar thanks for the advice on the fusion gun, I didn't realise it would be snap shotting most of the time. I take the shimmer shield as I'm normally up against a twilight army BA/SW or Grey Knights and always end up in CC. It makes them a little more survivable and can tie things up and the power weapon at least allows me to take some down with me. With Bladestorm rules, the extra shots might be the better option now.

For a friendly list I like it.
Absolutly no reason to take the falcon over the wave serpent unless you dont have the model. They are literally better in every way that matters.
Only other obvious change would be the war walkers. Either all bright lance, or all scatter lasers. Mixed roles dont mix.

I much prefer a mantle farseer over the mantle autarch, as the autarch you will find dieing far to often, while the farseer almost never does. But thats just preference.

Rest of the list is fine.

Thanks for the input, I've never played with the mantle before, I guess having a mobile farseer to give buffs where needed could be more useful. I might tweak it a bit so I can pay for farseer instead of autarch..............I'll probably give them both a run out at some point

I previously used two scatter lasers on my walkers in 5th ed, that will be even better now the 2nd one gets to re-roll misses. I think I'll go back to that, to pump out the dakka and can glance most things to death.

In this list do you think that is the better option, instead of twin brightlances?

Do note that you have to have a seperate weapon to get the twin linked, so sadly the scatter lasers on the warwalkers dont get the twin linked. But with the mantle seer just guide them and it will be just as good if not better.
I do like the scatter lasers more than the lances yes. You should have enough anti high Av from the fire dragons, so dont worry.

So can you not get twin linked from laser lock after shooting with the first scatter laser?
