The models are definitely amazing. Their rules are pretty bad. I use mine as count as warp spiders. Look cool and have good rules.

The phoenix lord on the other hand is amazing both rules and model.

I haven't fielded them yet (although I would /love/ to), but they got a buff with their latest update. They're supposedly much better than they used to be. Just like any Eldar unit, they're fragile but high damage, so take that as you will and do the ol jump-shoot-jump to keep them safe.

been reading up on them online and i'm gonna get some and thinking of running them with a squad of warp spiders in a 2250 list

If you run them in an Eldar/Dark Eldar Ld Shenanigans list, they do very well.

With that unit, I just think of Hemlock Wrathfighter, and a Farseer with Terrify. BUT it's useless against a Fearless army, and there is far too much Fearless in 40K. It's one of the reasons I like 30K. No ATSKNF and Fearless is non-existent.

By the way, someone mentioned updated rules? Where are their most updated rules at? IA 11: Doom of Mymeara?

The update nerfed them HARD. they traded a 4+ invulnerable save for a 4+ cover save that cannot be upped in any way, including stealth and shrouded. Combining their fire no longer increases the range of their gun, and they still only have one wound at over 30 points a model.

When they were released, I bought the whole squad.( including the exarch) their primary purpose was to give me solid anti vehicle shooting in my foot army. As well as countering blast master noise marines and helldrakes with their invulnerable saves. Now they don't do ANY of that. Such a waste. I almost had them done and painted, now they sit in a box. I'm not going to waste time painting something I will never field.

Thanks for the feed back everyone i think i'm still going to get some

When I started this hobby I started on the theory I would buy the models I liked and learn to use them effectively, as I'm not too fussed about winning/losing games as long as I enjoy myself.
