Home 3D printing might be a long way from being commercially available but this is cheap as heck for small bits.

I can imagine this being great for doing a lot of things including terrain making as shown in some videos.

I've used one, and you would have to put in a lot of practice before you can do anything that looks good at 28mm. They're cool, but a bit unwieldy and fiddly to get things to look good.

It is true. That model came from a 3d printer I have at work. I found the 3d model on the internet, I think at grabcad.com, and printed it up.

Here is a Rhino/Predator I am working on too.
