The steel fist samurai lords kickstarter launched today.with a bunch of finished and wip sculpts displayed over on the kickstarter.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/536771983/samurai-lords

The miniatures are a little bigger than perry or wargame factory samurai and if anyone wants a size comparison I can share some pictures of some of steel fists miniatures with most other 28mm samurai manufacturers.

Ii Naomasa

Ashigaru spearmen

Thanks for the heads up. I'll back this to get some command figures for my samurai army.

For your kings of war stuff mate? Which daimyo are you looking at? I think Honda would look great as a mounted hero for KOW

Either Honda or Ii Naomasa. I'm also looking for large banner bearers, hatamoto, and hopefully conch blowers if they get made.

Look forward to seeing that mate. Not sure what Daimyo I am going to go for personally as I am going making an Uesugi clan under Kenshin so will probably get whichever one looks coolest.

The Banner Bearers are pretty nice (the ones I have at least) if you want any size comparisons with other manufacturers let me know.

Yeah, a side-by-side comparison would be awesome.

This guys might make a good Uesugi.

He would make a great Kenshin. Atm I am planning on using the Perry Kenshin I have atm unless I find something better.

Here is a perry steel fist comparison

So Steel Fist minis are a little bigger. That will help the heroes stand out a little more on the tabletop.

Yeah that was my thinking too.

Will use them as unit leaders and Hero's for the most part. But might mix a few in to the ranks of units as well just to have a difference in body sizes

Well, there were higher-ranking samurai who led ashigaru units, so that would be another way to use them.

Yeah plus kings of war has a Unit leader mechanic in the game where you ideally need a clear unit leader in the centre of front of a base of troops. So I will probably have a steel fist guy at the front of many of my units for KOW.

Josh if the infinitely small possibility happens that we both paint our KOW samurai armies and then end up near enough to each other in the world to play a game I would love our armies to clash.

200 away from the Goal at this point.

A Mantica/Sengoku mashup would, indeed, be awesome.

I hope so. I've put out the call in what social media I use.

Yeah I did the same. Sadly it seems like the kickstarter has stalled somewhat for the time being.

If it stays small, there shouldn't be any trouble getting the minis produced and shipped in a timely fashion. Maybe having a successful campaign will bring him better luck if he runs another one.

Yeah very true. Hopefully we at least get the next stretch goal though.

I think my favourite sculpt is probably ishida even though I have no real goal of repressing him or is clan in any games he would make a great generic unit leader.

Shimazu is nice as well though and he is much more likley to be unlocked.

I wonder if the project will get a bump in the last 48 hours, like so many other KS projects.

Would really like to support this - but I just cannot see the benefits. No difference on lower pledges compared to ordering direct from their site - and very few KS unique minis.

Naah, I'll just wait and order the minis once they are finished...

This might be worth looking at kendo

Yes just add the money to your plege and you will be contacted before dispatch to make your choice. The prices are £15 per daimyo including mounted daimyo that will be £20 after the kickstarter, so that's a 25% discount. And £10 per foot and cavalry pack, which are £15 after the kickstarter.

So it sounds like despite the fact it says three packs for 45 if you wanted to get a daimyo and three foot packs you could get that for a £45 pledge including the free daimyo.

Might want to contact them to confirm though.

Just had it confirmed by the creator that what I said in the last post was correct. So it's a decent discount compared to retail actually it's just not very clear on the kickstarter itself.

He's up to £5000. Not a bad finish. I'll have to start thinking about which models I need.
