Firstly, an apology. I'm not actually a WMH player. I have the starter sets, and a few faction boxes, and I like the look of a lot of the models, but no-one in my circle actually plays, so with limited gaming time I've not gotten around to hunting down others to teach me, etc.

However, I do play a little bit of Kings of War, and have an Ogre army. My ethos is that if a model looks cool, I'll find a way to use it regardless of the manufacturer. About 15 minutes ago, I found out that Trollblood Cavalry Long Riders are a thing that exists, and so after a bit of useless googling, I decided to ask my model-related questions in here.

I'd love to incorporate these figures into my Ogres, so I'm wondering how large the trollbloods that ride the beasts are - compared to, say, a GW Ogre Kingdoms model or a Mantic Ogre (or even a space marine!) Would anyone have a picture or a link to one?

I'm also wondering if the heads are part of the torso, or separate pieces? I also have the same question regarding the shields and whether they are attached to the arms.

Finally, what material are they made of? Restic? HIPS? Metal?

many thanks for any help!

It turns out black undercoated models don't photograph very well, so here's a picture with Horthol, Long Rider Hero, who's of a scale with the Long Riders, next to a space marine. The black blob in the background is an actual Long Rider and an ancient Predator for scale? So, a Long Rider is roughly a head taller than a space marine, but bulkier.

The heads are attached to the torsos. IIRC, the torso is a separate piece that includes the head, with down from the waist being sculpted to the bull. The shields are separate pieces that are just glued onto the backs of the gauntlets in no particular position.

They're made of metal and very heavy!

Thank you!
How many pieces are the mounts made from? I assume at least some of the legs are separate pieces?

I assume you want them to be Mournfangs. They're way too small. They'd look out of place. Mournfangs fill up an entire 50x75 mm base. I know several people who have mulled this idea over. I'll see if I can get a picture of my mournfangs later next to a similar sized model.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

If I'm reading these un-greenstuffed gaps correctly, they're three pieces - each mount is split in two along its spine, then they have a head piece. I think the tail and all the legs are included in the two body pieces.

(Though maybe this is irrelevant if they're the wrong scale!)

& you're welcome.

Ok, here is comparison between a mournfang, a regular ogre on foot, and an Exemplar Venger.

The Venger is slightly smaller than a Long Rider, but its on the same size base. Compare it to the picture of Horthol that HiveFleet gave you.

Thanks again for the new images. I'm actually playing Kings of War and happily "counts-as" proxying all kinds of things into all kinds of other things. I'm also using several types of Ogre within my army, from Mantic, current-GW, old WHFB-3rd edition-era GW Ogres, and ones from various other manufacturers. (Many tribes, one banner, etc) I'm planning to use the Mournfangs as Ogre Chariots, rules-wise, so I'd potentially be looking at rebasing these guys and then figuring out what to use them for. Possibly multibased as Ogre Chariots as well? I was originally looking for beasts of burden to pull some converted chariots, and someone suggested these figures - and when I saw them, I thought they were awesome models, so I'm trying to figure out if they would fit in at all, and how I could use them...
