Hi folks,

I started to get tired of looking at Dark Angels motifs and emblems on my DV units, mainly everything but troops, and thinking they were in the way and just annoying me.

Their style and detail doesn't quite fit with my Spartan symbols and helmets for a Minotaurs like look in my main force.

So today I looked up the successor chapters to DA, and found Angels of Absolution to be the best look I think I could achieve at current painting skills.

So I just whipped out the white paint, splashed on some Seraphim sepia, and hope to layer up to a good bone colour with Army Painter shades and bone colours.

So far the units I am planning to switch to this smaller point force are:

HQ Balthasar DV

Deathwing Terminators DV

x3 Ravenwing Bikes DV

OOP Chaplin on Bike (Ravenwing)

(I have the DV Tac squad but they only recently went through a re-paint to my home brew scheme, and they're down the Heavy Plasma guy who was converted to a Honourguard member)

I love bikes, and have always sort of envied the Ravenwing, although not overtly fond of their colour scheme. For Angels of Absolution what you paint them is open to interpretation to some extent. So I may go for more bikes.

I'm not currently playing, but a 1,000 point down to 750 point collection seems good to me.

I was wondering, what units do people think will help round out a small enough point force for games.

I know DA are early 6th and may be due an upgrade, so I may hold off on the Codex but still beef up this small force for when I do get back to games.
