Greetings Brothers.

Just starting a new 750 point slow grow league in our local town. so trying to get a decent few lists to compete!

now i love TWC. Just think the models are so damn awesome. Here is my current list

Wolf Guard Battle Leader (140 points)

TWC Mount
Melta bombs
Frost Axe
Storm Shield
Power Armour

2X Iron Priests (210 Points)
TWC mount
Bolter

2X TWC units (400 Points)
Melta bombs
2 with Chainswords and SS
1 with TH and SS

Total points 750

So using the Champions of Fenris FOC, they all get +1 WS (besides the IP). Run them in 2-3 groups, charge in, and eat anything that gets in their way (IP and TWC leaders all get 5 s10 hits on the charge).

Does anyone have any sugestions, alterations or strats??

Hi wolf brother

I've been playing Space Wolves for the last three years now but am only getting started on TWC. I like your list and will try something similar. How did you fare?

Wolf brother, I love our pack on hulking fenresian wolves too, however this list has problems against many things. 1. Shooting armies, lots of even low power shots will kill your low body/wound count list. Lasguns, deffguns, plasmarifles, etc. will crush you with weight of fire. As an example I can bring a 750 pt list with 45 lootas and on average (getting 2 shots each) give you 8 or 9 wounds a turn after your saves. Invuln saves don't help against lots of cheap, high AP firepower. 2. Lots of bodies. Although orks are the best example, and the one I know since they are my second army, many armies can bring so many bodies you won't have enough attacks to beat them. I can bring a cheap Green Tide with 750 pts and that is a common strategy. Same goes for IG, that's a lot of guardsmen! Let me know how it goes, but in low points TWC by themselves are not the best answer. Add what you have in a 1500 or 2000 pt list and it's a completely different story!

Just for those interested, The 750 point list worked out ok! Not many things could answer when you have 10x s5 rending attacks, and 5x s10 rending concussive attacks, per squad on the charge. Thats not including the IC's adding their weight to most fights.

I did run into a few issues as mentioned with shooting armies (IG gun lines and the such) but with the high mobility, i was able to just run around them and score objectives.

I would load up on cyber wolves, and fenrisian wolves, as additonal options from your Iron Priest anf WGBL, to add the wounds needed to absorb things like fire and overwatch, and to aid in multicharging multiple units by spreading out.

They are so belpful, and can absorb things like CC and Stomp wounds.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, since you're using the Campions of Fenris book, go with the Krakenbone sword for i5 AP2 wounding via your WGBL

I am also starting SW as ally detachment to bring TWC to help do close combat.

What I think needed to be highlight to all Wolf Brothers who run pure TWC list is, watch out those Genestealers lurking in the dark. A First Curse formation will bring 100 S5 AP5, WS6, I6 rending attacks on the charge, by average they will kill 4 to 5 wolf riders before you get to attack back. That is even not counting the Patriarch who will dish out 7 S6 AP3 attacks. So unless you have invisibility or veil of time buffed you up, don't rush near them.
