I currently play 40k and warmachine but wanted another game system to mix it up.

Does anyone have any experience with either? The battletech universe seems to be very rich and the fact you don't play on 3D terrain is a huge plus (hexes). The games been around since the 80s and had that 2010 re-boot. The level scale is the total opposite of DW as it is almost micro squad level or single unit level.

Dystopian wars steampunk universe seems really cool but the game only been around for 3-4 years? How are the rules? I really like the epic-level scale that's above 40k.

Lastly do either of these have any players in the US and UK specifically the New York City and the London area (I rotate between the two cities) if any of you guys are from either city.

Thanks for any input!

Well, with BT, you CAN actually play on 3d terrain, but at it's heart, yeah - it's a boardgame. 2d playing surface.

(BT has had miniatures tabletop rules using 6mm terrain for decades).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I've played dw and it is a really good game. Lots of fun, easy to paint and transport. It did have a really good follow a couple of years ago, but not sure how much it is still being played, as I only play it against a mate. Considering how much Spartan have released though it must be getting played alot still. Might be worth contacting dark sphere and asking how often the games are being played there, that might help decide which game will be easiest to find an opponent for.
