Before the 7th edition necron book dropped, I actually kind of liked what GW was doing with every codex getting a new FOC, although I think it could have been done better. But I wonder if every codex had gotten their own unique FOC, would there have been relative balance? It seemed to me like it was getting there.

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature. |

I'd imagine it's because all of the regular GW writiers where out on vacation when all the pre-necron dexes dropped. Then when they returned from vacation, we got the Crons. What you are suggesting could have been, but it really depends on what the specific FOC's could have been. In other words, I have no idea.

Kevin Rountree became the CEO at the start of the new year so a new business strategy was implemented, ie a combination of formations to gain insane benefits (and have to buy more models for)

The new FOC thing with 40k is to just give bonuses to combination of high-priced models.

It seems to me that some of the larger formations, such as the Gladius, are in essence a unique version of the FOC for that codex.
