Here is my take on the CSM obliterator. I really dislike the GW OBLIT model and figured it was time to build something awesome. I think the Centurion model looks super tough and pissed and decided to use it as the base for my model.

components used for this model:
Centurion models
Various chaos weapons
various diameters of plastic tubing for the shells
cork for the base
green stuff molded into flesh all over the weapons

All in all this model wasn't too hard or complicated to accomplish and should be easy for anyone with minor green stuff experience to tackle. This was one of my first times messing with green stuff and with a little water it molded quite nicely.

I started by gluing all the weapons into place then sculpting green stuff around it.

After sculpting I used multiple layers of cork and various sizes of plastic tubing to mimic various shells hitting the ground. The idea is that these guys are posted up swapping from weapon to weapon and dumping whatever shell that weapon ejects.

Here is the finished product. I'm debating on brushing some gloss clear of the flesh to give it a wet look. let me know what you think.

So much better than the actual Sh#%@y obliterator models, your paintjob is really good too, makes the models pop I think you should do a gloss over the fleshy bits

Facts are chains that bind perception and fetter truth. For a man can remake the world if he has a dream and no facts to cloud his mind.

I have been debating adding a gloss over the top of them. I think they would look better with the gloss

I think that is more of a aesthetic choice, some people like gloss other don't. I personally don't, and think they look great as is.

Awesome green stuff work. Looking better than the official gw models!

The armies that I collect:

- Tyranids, 2,000 pts.
- Orks, 1,250 pts.
- Tau, 750 pts.
- Guard (PDF), 750 pts.

(Yes I have a thing for horde armies to some extent)

My only critique is that there is an awful lot flesh/muscle all concentrated on the arms and little else.
I would suggest a more subtle approach is stuffing areas between plates, looking like the demon bits hold it all together.
The length of the gun arms are getting on the fire truck ladder length side of things.
But what would I know...

Awesome idea. I love it.

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum
