I want to stick with the fluff, do you think Hawk Lords could have a Skyhammer Annihilation Force?  [RSS] Share on facebook Share on Twitter Submit to Reddit

They are a successor chapter of Ultramarines, but they focus on air power. Do you think they would have a Skiyhammer Annihilation Force? I really like the color scheme. That's why I ask.

Thanks in advance

"...The Hawk Lords almost never use Drop Pods in their planetary assaults, preferring to make use of their Thunderhawk gunships for low-altitude insertions instead because of the greater control the use of those aircraft allows in making deployments....""

You could, but I wouldn't go to overboard on it. if this line from the wiki is to be believed, it's not their preferred tactic.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

They're described as using drop pods only rarely. Which means it depends largely on your interpretation.

Is your army making a rare exception to the rule? Or are you flying in the face of established fluff? Someone somewhere will argue both ways.

If you're only drawn to the colour scheme though, perhaps consider the Imperial Stars or the Soul Drinkers (love these guys.)

I would say no. They are noted for preferring thunderhawks and other aircraft to land over drop pods.

Using the strongest drop pod formation in the game seems gamey to me.

Really liking the Imperial Stars for this one. Downside of the Soul Drinkers is that they aren't around anymore. But, I do like the Imperial Stars. Thank you!

Neither is Captain Tycho of the Blood Angels, Captain Shrike of the Raven Guard (he's a Chapter Master now), Aun'Va, Hive Fleet Kraken, Behemoth or even most of Leviathan, I think Eldrad Ulthran died somewhere, the Astral Claws are gone, Abbadon is ONLY in the Eye of Terror and so many more armies are dead or dying or currently at a specific point in the galaxy and should only be fighting Faction X. The clock has stopped, so any game we play could take place in 748M41 for all we care. Doesn't HAVE to be 999M41. Don't worry too much about what's here and what's dead. There is no canon in 40k after all.

Every game you play is the 1 out of 100 times they'll drop pod assault, the other 99 times aren't battles worth playing as they aren't pivotal to a campaign, or are just run of the mill (for marines) missions.

Brb learning to play.

Sounds like a no.

then again you should be bringing a thunderhawk every game

On moon miranda.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you won't win many friends with one of the most hideously broken formations in the game, and sounds rather strongly counter to their established fluff.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
