So I have a few codexes and other things in ePub format which work fine on iOS and android (albeit a little slower).
However I have never found a single program capable of reading them on Windows.

Has anyone else actually managed to find any programs for Windows that work for reading ePub codexes (eg Warhammer 40k ones) ?

Calibre works fine for me (also reads several other ebook formats like .mobi).

I use it for porting the ebooks to both my main tab (which runs windows) and my backup which is a 'droid. All the epubs I have read fine on all three systems.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Yep, Calibre and SumatraPDF should have you covered for just about every format known to humanity.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

I tried both Sumatra and Calibre and neither could read Mont'Ka properly. Yet iBooks has no issue with it at all on my phone.
(and this is the epub version not the enhanced one)

Calibre couldn't even convert it to mobi properly either, so I can't even use it on the kindle app.

Literally nothing thus far can open it, and it's a common thing I'm finding with the GW ePub files. iBooks is fine, nothing on Windows will read it however.

amazon kindle reader for PC

that's what I've used

It's a bit of a hassle with GW tbh - not everyone has apples ><

I'd probably be a lot more interested in a lot of their publications if they worked properly for PC.

I've also read where the Kobo app works - I've not tried it myself.

There's an ePub plugin for Firefox, that works fine for the epub files I've bought.

If only the place that you bought them from (presumably) had a page about formats and what programs to use to watch them.

Firefox crashes for me when it uses a gig of RAM. I stopped using the plug-in because of that, but the size of BL ebooks has dropped since.
I use Nook for desktop or Adobe Digital Editions. Both have downsides, but I get what I need from them.
