Just got this in a KS update from R&B
Captains! Davy Jones' locker calls out to you once again!

We're proud to announce the launch of Rum & Bones: Second Tide! Join us April 11th on Kickstarter when we leave port for parts unknown!

This time, the fight is between the cunning and monstrous denizens of the Deep Lords, as they take on the gold-seeking cutthroats of Marea de la Muerte (The Tide of Death!)

I kinda get a sense that this means it'll be a 2 faction KS only. While I would understand not needing to have as large of a KS as the launch campaign, it is a little disheartening if it really is just the two. In that instance it kinda feels like we've seen most of what we'll see already.

Unless those two are simply in the base game set......hmmm. Curious.

A cursory glance seems that they've taken some of the feedback to heart. I do like the idea of various upgrades if I'm seeing things correctly.

I still hope for a time limit on that Kraken. One time we both had AWFUL rolls and the thing just would not leave the board. After chewing up a steady stream of deckhands you think the thing would get full and leave!

Like what I've seen so far. Torn on pledging when this comes out though. Only played my set a couple times, but had a blast.

So does the Kraken now deal 4 damage straight away to the heroes with the highest pool? That would be nice. Felt the Kraken punished the player who was the furthest ahead, not the player who had the biggest Kraken pool.

I see those bends in the character cards and it bends my heart. :(

Also, wonder what the pledge price will be. I'm assuming ~$100 for a base pledge but if it's a bit lighter than that, like the recent Arcadia Masmorra KS, then that'd be swell, too. The above pictures of the game layed out make it look a bit short on content.

I'm 99% sure those are handmade prototype cards! CMON has started having a lot ready in advance of launching their Kickstarters lately, but not to the extent of printing all the components.

I'd see no reason why this wouldn't follow the model of the first $100 R&B Kickstarter, given that this is in effect going to be a "2nd Edition Standalone". Core box nominally valued at $100, is actually going to be sold for $70-$80 online at retail, and then a pile of Exclusive Heroes for:
- The 2 core game factions.
- Any number of Mercenaries.
- A few of the optional add-on Factions.

I don't feel the game is particularly short on content, it has what it needs! Aside from having less cardboard tiles than Zombicide does, it pretty much follows that model: hordes of generic creeps, a lesser but still large number of unique characters, profile sheets, fairly fat stacks of cards, and chunky but standard dice.

Be 100% sure.. they said on their FB that those were the prototypes from Adepticon. I probably should've cited that but.. reasons..

Hm, this seems to have hit Dakka with underwhelming interest. Did they do anything in terms of Zombicide crossover with this one? I haven't been following at all.

I can't speak from personal experience but all my board games friends said the rules of the first one were not very good, which I found strange as CMON boardgames have been fun.

There didn't seem to be a whole lot of interest on Dakka during the first one, either. My wife and I love season one, so season two is a sure thing for us. I'm loving all the new stuff and the exclusives. Marcus Fenix and Nick Fury were about the last people I expected to see in this campaign.

I enjoyed the first one, and I like the refinements they've made with the new edition.

Plus the teams (at least the Deep Ones) are way more my kind of thing.

Plus there are fun ridiculous things like this...

Did they ever deliver on the promise of releasing resin models for the first iteration of the game? My quick google search indicates nothing was ever done on the front and I'm not rolling the dice on those plastic they're using ever again.

If I recall correctly there have been a few resin variants released, naturally in limited quantities on CMON's store.

Were they supposed to have done more then that?

I thought the plastic was pretty decent, especially if you gave it a good ink wash to bring out the details. I think it was more a case of the colored plastic not helping much.

You got any links to those exclusive resins? I wasn't able to track any.

Ad for quality, I had everything from the previous kickstarter and had to dump about half of it due to loss of detail. Some models were clearly not designed for whatever material they used.

Edit: Found them! Well, found two. Miss Mags Valentine Day special and Blackbeard. So I guess they did release something.

The resins sold out very fast. It was a pumpkin head swashbuckler, a skeleton santa, and a valentine archer, all variations of the core set minis.

Not sure about the mini quality comment. Zombicide season 1 was my first kickatarter. I have since backed 98% of all cmon kickstarters as a miniature gamer and collector (they have stolen my business from gw!). Blood rage, rum and bones, bsieged, arcadia quest, zombicide, the minis have all been great. The only thing I noticed is the brighter or glossy thencolor, the less detail can be seen until it is primed. I am assuming this is why the others and black plague went with monotone hero colors.

This is another great value and good game. I for one am excited for the deep lords, they are my favorite davion alongside the bone devils. I like the theme, light hearted nature, the minis, the ron & bones throwbacks, the game is just great.

Only thing I wish is that we'd see the elusive ron & bones logan miniature. It's like that metal mini doesn't even exist worldwide, and it is such a good mini.

I'm actually kind of surprised they're sticking to the colored pieces with this.

That's my one big disappointment. I would have hoped they'd have done like they did with Black Plague, with the colored rings on the bases.

I get why they kept the colors- it lets you keep a visual consistency for the various roles each hero plays.

Still, from a painting perspective it's a hassle.

I just want my Devils/ Dante to come out decent, as I will totally be using that in other games.

LOVED Devil May Cry. Hell, even my wife liked it and beat all three of the original PS2 games. I can't even admit to that accomplishment, and she started climbing up into the higher difficulties!

I ended up pulling my pledge. I like R&B but I don't love it and I had a reality check and realized I was in for $255.. which would go a long way for things I do love.

I'll probably regret that later but it's all good.

Yeah, the new factions really are something! And I do mean that in a good way, mind. La Brise Sanguine was the go-to choice for my wife and I when we're on a team, but they may get bumped to second for the Deep Lords, they're fantastic!

That said, I adore the other new factions, too. I love how out of left field Legion and Inquisition are. This KS ended up being a pretty damn good deal, I'd say. I'm in for early backer plus Season One upgrade kit, then when the pledge manager rolls around, I'll add the two new factions, and probably the Fairy Tale and Cutthroat packs, possibly Tuskateers.

Yeah, I'm happy with what we got in the end. Quite a bit of variety now to play with as well.

I'm also looking forward to Massive Darkness coming at the end of May! Sooner than expected, but I haven a feeling that's going to be a long campaign!

I know we'll be rocking the Dante & Virgil team in this, and by extension they may do some dungeon delving and zombie killing when they get the chance in other games as well!

The colored one below isn't even a rendered one. They've added a color filter to the painted miniature. You can tell on the ones where they've painted patterns on the bandanas and pants. The spots and stripes are in the "colored plastic" shot.
Kinda misleading but I think the point is to show roughly what they'll look like in a single raw material.

EDIT: Hmm.. it's not that way in all of them but I did spot it in some. I'll post the one I noticed.

Here's one.. you can see the painted highlights and stuff. I'm trying to find the other. Looking.. some look like old Ron and Bones pewters that were just spray painted a flat color, some look like renders.. and some look like photo filters.

EDIT 2:Here's the other I saw
