Been working on my tau list at 2000 points, and I plan on running this as a Hunter Contingent. I mainly face orks, space marines, imp guard and dark eldar. Any advice is welcome!

Aegis Line 50

HQ
Commander with 2 bodyguards, all with 2x fusion blasters and 6 drones 311

Troops
10 fire warriors and sarge 100
10 fires warriors and sarge 100
9 Fire warriors and sarge 91
9 fire warriors and sarge 91
9 fire warriors and sarge 91

Elites
Crisis Team (3) all with dual missile pods, 5 drones, and one velocity tracker. 231

Optimized Stealth Cadre: 2 units of 3 stealth suits, and a ghosteel with ion raker, burst cannon and stimulant injector 350

Fast Attack

2 teams of 5 pathfinders 110

Heavy Support

Hammer head with railgun and disruption pod 145
Longstrike with railgun and disruption pod 190
Hammer head with railgun 130

Have about 60 extra points to play with. Maybe take a unit of 10 kroot, or perhaps some marker drones? (I have the models)

Im trying to avoid a min max list, and want to have a nice looking combined arms force on the field.
Plan is that 3 units of firewarriors hide behind an aegis line to form gunline with pathfinders supporting them. Hammerheads hang out with them, and use hunter contigent rule to fire as a group and all get BS 5 and tankhunter for wrecking any heavy vehicles. Crisis suits, stealth teams, ghostkeel and 2 firewarrior teams are on the offense. Fusion team handles vehicles up close, and missile pod team deals with fliers and light vehciles. Stealth cadre helps mop up infantry/light vehicles, and can also blow up tanks thanks to wall of mirrors.

Any thoughts, ideas, or criticism?

I would definitely take some marker drones, 10 pathfinders will be murdered very quickly.
I understand that you are being friendly, which is awesome, but I think the three hammerheads are a huge points sink. for the price of a hammer head you could have 2 dual fusion blaster crisis suits with room for upgrades. They would do the same job, but a heck of a lot better: And they would fit the unified tau theme you are going for. But that's just me. Tbh it's refreshing to see a fellow tau player who doesn't want to go all riptide/storm surge

drop the sarges from the fire warrior squads and use the points to upgrade the aegis line to a tidewall shieldline (much MUCH better rules and only 10 points more)

the crisis team needs more guns...they are only putting out 6 s7 shots which isn't great for the points invested there. I'd be tempted to drop them and use the poitns to bounce the stealth suits up to 6 each and add a second fusion blaster.

I agree. Sadly hammerheads suck. You're much better off with units of broadsides taking up your heavy slots. High yield broadsides will put out 4 s7 and 4 s5 shots twin linked each, whilst a rail rifle wielding one puts out a s8 shot and 4 s5 twin linked. Far more bang for your buck. And 2 broadsides with high yields are 15 points cheaper than that hammerhead.

I'd consider dropping a unit of fire warriors as well. In terms of deployment that amount of static units will clog your deployment zone.

The crisis body guards are unnecessary but you can run the unit that way if you want.

Hunter contingent doesn't have a slot for a fortification so you can't take the ageis or sheildwall, although as stated the sheildwall is way better for only 10 points. If you want that many fire warriors an ethereal is kindof a must for storm of fire. So a CAD would be a good idea, move two of your strike teams(sadly firewarriors aren't a unit anymore) to there and put an ethereal in there. Maybe some of those nifty missle pods or smart missles on your strike teams for some added punch.
