Hey guys, I just recently got back into 40k after a long break. I decided to start a Nid army mainly because I wanted to paint them up. Let me know what you guys think of this list... I'm not going for the most competitive thing in the world, but I def play to win and want the list to give the opponent a good tough game.

PS I haven't played since 5th edtion..... I'm sure a lot has changed so any criticism is more then welcome, and explanations on said criticism is super appreciated since I know a lot of rules have changed regarding cover etc. Thanks!

Sounds like a fun theme list.

Maybe a zoanthrope extra synapse will free your flyrants.

Not sure if it does but if toxin sacks make your shooting poison add that to your gaunts and then mix in some with devourers.

I thought Venoms provided synapse as well. Hmmmm def something to look into. I was just bringing them for the cover, but I could prob drop it down to 2 and take a Zoan.

I'll have to look into the Toxin Sacs and Devourers.

Realistically, how bad will this list get stomped?

two flyrants will be a pain against anyone but frankly all the rest is going to die but 6 fexes are going to be strong just slow,

Perhaps some spore mine or biovore to harass the enemy would be good.

Well I do have 50 or so points to play around with. I was thinking a Lictor to deep strike around, but I could definitely consider some spore mines.

How are you taking 3 HQ choices in a single Combined Arms Detachment?

It's not a CAD, it's a Hive Fleet Detachment. Requires an extra troops choice, but gives you an extra HQ and 3 extra troops.

Would change Rippers to bare bones Hormagaunts. Gives the Carnifexes 3+ cover while they move up. Would also have a Mawloc/Exocrine for AP2 purposes.

Agreed. With a Malanthrope in tow, you can easily make those 'fex really hard to take down.

Changed the list to give me some AP 2. Unfortunately I had to drop the electro grubs :(. I know that's probably a pretty poor choice, but I couldn't find the points for what I was trying to do. Went with the venoms because I don't have a Malanthrope. I feel like the Tervigon is extremely necessary for some much needed synapse. Also, will the termagaunts be large enough to provide cover for my Carnifexes while they march up the board? Thank you guys for the replies!!!!

drop the mawloc (its too risky without lictors), upgrade the venom to an malantrope, get some devs for the gaunts (1/3) and give the tervigon grubs and CClaws
