It's quite simple!

1- Get 2 Astra Militarum Veteran Squads
2- Get 1 Astra Militarum Company Command Squad

Then you'll form an Astra Militarum CAD, which allows a Lord of War slot for your Baneblade.

However, they'll be Come the Apocalypse allies...

AI & BFG: / BMG: Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke / Battletech: SR, OWA / HGB: Caprice / Malifaux: Arcanists, Guild, Outcasts / MCP: Mutants / SAGA: Ordensstaat / SW Legion & X-Wing: CIS / WWX: Union

Or you could run Unbound and take it with no restriction! (save for ObSec and the Come the Apocalypse restraint)

You can take a look at Renegades from Imperial Armour if you're wanting AM units in Chaos variants. The army lists are not completely identical, but they share the same ally chart as CSM and are thus allies with CSM.

The first time I read "Baneblade" I was about 10 years old and pronounced it "Ben-eh-blade."

I know that it should be bane like cane or train, but I can't get out of a dumb way of saying it from 20 years ago.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

Yes, you need to buy the IA book.

It is IA13.

Curiously, their Baneblade is 75 points cheaper than a Loyalist one with the same stats for no real discernable reason.

You can run Renegades from IA's Siege of Vraks or IA 13 Warmachines of the Lost and Damned. Both have their good points, but IA 13 is definitely more focused on armor.

Can renegades and heretics not take a baneblade? I'm pretty sure they can, so just run that as an unbound ally.

It's probably BS2 like most Chaos Renegade vehicles start. Most can then upgrade to BS3 which generally brings point values back in line with Imperial Guard versions of tanks.

There are other ways to field a bane blade model in a CSM army. You just have to add some stuff to it. ; )

There is the Khorne Tower of skulls. This is just a bane blade with a tower on top of it.

And there is the plaguereaper of nurgle. This is just a nurglified bane blade.

Both of their rules are in Warzone Pandorax

Negative. It is 85 points cheaper at BS2, then two-meltabombs-worth of points for Militia Training to make it BS3. It's still 75 points cheaper than the same (but Loyalist) Baneblade.

The plague reaper is actually quite fun to use since it also has a S7 ap3 Hellflamer you know those big ones : D

He might even qualify for legacies of ruin giving it some unique powers.

Is the plague reaper allowed for normal 40k? I thought it was an apoc-only unit.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

You might be right. I'm guilty on basing it purely on battle scribe and assumed they checked their sources.

I assumed it would be in that FW low oop document but it seems kinda unlikely now I think about it. It would be great if they are allowed since that nurgle one is really cool.

It is in't in this file so I have no idea where battlescribe based their LOW status on.

That is Renegades thing, everything is cheap as beans. The Renegade Hellhound also has an 18" range on it's flamer, as it lacks the torrent rule, and has a special rule instead. Renegade Chaos Spawn are 35pt cheaper than CSM spawn for 3. It's just how R&H roll.

I believe the new plaguereaper rules are in Pandorax and it became a lord of war for normal 40k. I think the only Apoc only chaos unit is the Plague Tower, as it was left behind in Apoc: Reload.

On moon miranda.

Most likely FW just never used the Escalation BB pricing, which upped the BB's points cost by 75pts for no apparent reason, FW does a lot of weird copypasta jobs like that.

IA stuff is for use in normal games of 40K. As long as you've the rules to show people they're generally okay with it.
