Ok - so I'm trying to make sure I've put my list together correctly (as well as the free stuff/pts...) and to determine which faction I should use for the best special abilities/rules

I've created an IF Battle Company with the following - 5th Try on 8/22

Captain & Command Squad - 295 pts
Maul/MB, 5 SS, 3 Flamer, PMaul
Drop Pod - DWML

Chaplain and Command Squad - 280 pts
MB, 5 SS, 3 Flamer, PMaul

Tac Squad 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 - 630 pts
4 Tac w/Melta, Sgt w/MB
Razorback w/TL LasCannon

Attack Bike 1 & 2 - 100 pts
MM

Dev Squad 1 & 2 - 364 pts
7 Devs, Sgt - 4 ML and 7 Dev, Sgt - 2ML 2 LC

Aux 1 - 180pts

Land Speeder
HF/HF

2 Whirlwinds

This is no frills per se, but lots to put out on the table. 4 Whirlwinds, 6 Razr, 2 Pods plus the ground troops.

Thoughts on which chapter makes this a better list!!!

Any updates or suggestions would be appreciated!

Maybe roll with all LasCannons on the Rzrs? Swap the LasPlas for Assault Cannons?

Would really like to make sure I did the points correctly.

Where are your chaplain and chapter master going to go? I personally don't like las plasma but that's up to you. Nit sure how you get scicarian as its FW and need those rules which are different. At 1850 I think you need a flyer but the new rules mean you either punt flying or buy a dedicated flyer. For its points I love the talon for harassing. The talon formation is wonderful. Never buy flak misses. Never worth points. Also I'd drop the las cannon in the deb squads and make all the same.

The HQ were going to run with the aux if able.

If not, I will have to make room in a Rzr.

You can use the sicaran as a relic but you have to take the MotF or some such. I was actually looking for the rule...

4 ML with tank hunter works for me. Just thought since I had the points I could add a few more lascannon.

Thanks!

The HQ cant start in the drop pods as they are a different force organization. Putting them in a razor isnt the best use but ok. I would look at maybe putting him in a bike, or getting him and chappy with some bikers.

Remove at least one deathwind launcher. I think it likely that you will end up dropping them on objectives often. There must be awesomer things available for 15 points.

No - it is not legal - you have to take formations listed in the gladius strike force to get the free razors.

Full battle company formation has the rule which was free pods/rhino/rzr. Basically its 2 demi companies together.

It's 2 demi companies plus an auxiliary. The auxillary is a requirement to use the gladius strike force.

We dont want rules getting in the way of fun!

So maybe I misunderstood about the Battle Company.

I was thinking it was a standalone formation outside the GSF.

Theres nothing illegal about your list except getting free transports. If you want the free transports youll need to add an auxiliary from the gladius strike force. It will be pretty easy to do - just drop some points from your marines.

So I get it. I just retread it again.

So I need to change the Sicarans to Predators and the Aux would then be a Armored Task Force, correct?

Should I find a way to make the Captain a CM or does it matter for this list?

I can't really see much that the CM would add to this primarily-shooty list besides the Orbital Strike. IMO, you'd be better off just sticking with the Captain and saving some points.

What exactly is the rationale for Vet Sgts? They seem like a waste of points for what you get...

Wasn't sure. Just leadership issues I guess.

That would give me another 80pts to play with.

Every little bit helps, I think Vet Sgts are cool too, and in a fluffy battle they are fun to have, but if you're doing Battle Company it is all about target saturation and points. Do you have any assault marines in your collection? You take them without jump packs and you got 2 more free transports.

I've got an Ironclad and Dreadpod. That's about it for other vehicles/units.

I could drop my 2 speeders from the BC part and switch them for Attack Bikes...

That and removing the Vt Sgt upgrades gives me enough to actually toss in the Dread/Pod...

Currently though, I'm still thinking this is best run as Imperial Fists.

Didn't realize you were going Imperial Fists. I haven't had a lot of experience with attack bikes. I'd say they are more useful as your tank busters than your speeders. I've tried role mixing on speeder weapons and it almost never works out, going double heavy bolters and keeping them 36 inches away has always worked best in my experience.

Glad you can take the Ironclad it is most certainly a worthwhile point investment than your vets.

Hmm.. May be better to run them with HB too since IF would allow them to re-roll misses.

Unfortunately the chapter tactics don't apply to your vehicles, a major oversight on GWs part, really discourages vehicles...

Some suggestions on the current list

I've created an IF Battle Company with the following - 4th Try on 8/20

No reason to take IF with this list. Typically an IF based list has sternguard since in 7ed their bolters get the rerolls. With so many vehicles I'd go Iron Hands since they do get IWND (assuming you use GWs WIP FAQ or ITC FAQ -- rest of my comments will assume this is the case).

Captain - Warlord - 130pts

Captains aren't 130 base. Typo or still paying CH points? Also worth getting at least an auspex on him but also

Tac Squad 1 (CM) & 2 (Chap) - 220pts (these will be the HQ transpo)
4 Tac w/Flamer, Vet Sgt w/MB
Razorback w/TL LasCannon

Tac Squad 3, 4, 5 & 6 - 456 pts
5 Tac w/Flamer, VetSgt w/MB
Razorback w/TL LasCannon

Drop the vet sgt upgrade, not worth it unless its a larger cc oriented unit (even then questionable). I'm more a fan of las/plas razors but they require conversions so not everyones cup o tea. Drop all units to 5 man. One bolter dude is not worth it. Flamer is not what I would do, especially since you have 4 whirlwinds. Melta is where its at generally for cheap squads, although gravcannons are great if you have points.

Land Speeder 1 & 2 - 120pts
MM/HF

Some people like mix role speeders but for me in 7ed they are so frail I'd rather go cheap focused suicide (so double melta or flamer, also assumes you have some locator beacons on pods) or long range via typhoon launcher or double HB. Another consideration is attack bikes since they benefit from chapter tactics and tac doctrines. Finally you do have some extra points so swapping these for assault marines with 2x flamer and free drop pods is also a thing. That's probably what I'd do.

Dev Squad 1 & 2 - 414 pts
7 Devs, Vet Sgt - 4 ML
Drop Pod - DWML

This may be a model availability thing but even with IF tank hunter I wouldn't bother with MLs, especially if podding. The loadout dujour is 2x Gravcannon in rhino or pods. Or razorback with 2-3 lascannons (IF lascannons ARE worth it). Also a consideration with points saved above is centurions. Scoring centurions with chapter tactics (whether its the seige stuff from IF or IWND on the sgt and 6+ FNP for the squad) are pretty nice, just requires points.

Aux 1 & 2 - 380pts

Land Speeder
HF/MM

2 Whirlwinds

Assuming this is style or preference thing? Not what I would do in current meta but at least its different.

Thanks for the pointers. I forgot to update my list with prior changes, but have done so now.

Added command squads for the HQ and put them in pods vs. giving the pods to the Dev.

Making a few of the changes you suggested.

I am opting for the Suppression Aux as I hope to have eliminated any transports and just throwing down templates to get rid of the rest...

We shall see.
