After finally deciding on a theme and army for the Horus Heresy, I have had enough of lurking on these forums and now I'm starting my first ever P&M Blog.

The idea is that they are genetically enhanced militia, hence the improved stats of the Solar Auxilia and not the low-leadership and low armour save value of the militia lists. Grotesques (from the Dark Eldar) range will fill the ranks of Ogryns while arco-flagellants will fill the ranks of Storm Sections with power axes and shroud bombs.

My Solar Auxilia Build


Heads

Pig Iron Kolony Militia or SoTR German Gas Masked. I have some SoTR heads but I want to see if the Pig Iron ones are suitable (as they are cheaper)

Bodies

Bolt Action German Infantry (Early War & Mid War) with green-stuff made body armour.



Arms

Skitarii w/Galvanic Rifles. I initially used Radium Carbines but I want to see what the Galvanic Rifles look like. If the Galvanic Rifles are neither too large or too unsightly then the Radium Carbines will loose their ammo packs which will become the chemical injectors on the back of the soldiers.

I have also come across some AT-43 jetpacks in my bitz box (things generally get lost in the massive behemoth). So I'm going to make a resin mold with them and get entire squads of jet-pack equipped infantry.




So I've completed 6 body armoured soldiers out of 20. Yay.

Also, how do I make these pictures smaller?

So I found over 90 Corporation troopers just sitting around collecting dust in a box. Not sure how they collected dust in a box, but hey.

I tested out what the rifles and gas masks looked on them.

BONUS ROUND:



#1 Charonite.

A simple conversion with only the arms being modified with lightning claws. Plus the pilot has a gas mask head like the rest of the army.
I really like this conversion and if I can get my hand on more Strider suits I will have an entire Charonite unit of these beauts.
