From the Kickstarter:

Clash of the Genres: Tactical player versus player chaos! is a fight to the death between three to eight players in an arena tiled board. Starting with ten health, players must position themselves in defensive and offensive positions on the board while using cards they draw from four “armories”to attack players and assist themselves. When all other players but one are down to zero health, the winner of the game has been found!

There have been a lot of card battle games, dungeon-delving campaigns, and territory-based tactical board games, but COTG aims to bring the best elements of those genres together into a mashup PvP board game that is easy to pick up for newcomers and veteran players alike.

The game combines the strategy of tile movement with the chaotic nature of random card draws and tactical hand management.

Balanced community decks and no dice rolling!
Unique zone cards to affect the board!
A huge starting deck of 160 cards!
Come back as a ghost player to avenge your own death!
The core of Clash of the Genres is to be random and chaotic so that no game will feel the same. With the wide variety of entertainment tropes and parodies, the content of this game can be endless.

Almost at the halfway point of the Kickstarter!

The developer is conjuring something up so you can try out the game 'digitally' via Table Top Simulator.
