Next week we are having a big battle to end the campaign and I should have Alarielle fully painted by then. So I really want to have her in the final game but we re only allowed 2k each. So do you have any ideas what would be a good list to support her? I've got most Syl units save for Outcast.

I'd say a lot of multi wound units to take advantage of her heal ability, and as many Kunoth Hunters as physically possible.

Alarielle with Verdant Blessing or Regrowth.
Spirit of Durthu with Briarsheath
3 Units of 3 Kurnoth Hunters with bows
Then either;
3 units of 10 Dryads and the Free Spirit formation or
3 Units of 5 Tree Revenants and a Branchwych with Regrowth.

Either way, you're playing a hit-and-run/attrition game.
Don't get bogged down, keep everything healthy.
NB. Alarielle is an infantry mincer and support strong point she is *NOT* a beatstick. Keep her away from Hero Monsters and make warmachines a priority for removal.

I think the board is going to be very saturated with models so I am not completely sold on moving around. Also a lot of them have cottoned on to me using the woods and so like to block the woods with a unit or two.

- Does Durthu compliment Alarielle quite well? He is very expensive points wise with me already having Alarielle.

- I have the bows but wouldn't some scythes be better potentially?

- I am a little uneasy at using units of 10 dryads and as for the tree revanants (I only have ten) are good at pinching objectives but they really struggle against most units.

- BTW is Alarielles command ability better than the other command abilities I could give Durthu like the bonus to bravery?

Its a shame because I could do a lot more with 3000 points as opposed to 2. Plus I can never be certain if the managers will change up the plan at the last minute depending on who turns up. If I had 3000 points I would probably take advantage of the Kurnoth Wargrove to get the extra bravery and recycle my blobs of dryads. Wuld probably look something like.

= 2940 Which would be a pretty ideal army for me.

Probably too late to be of much help, but have you considered Tree Kin? They are Sylvaneth aligned and among the stuff in the legacy Wood Elf pdf. Offensively the are a bit more efficient than Hunters with scythes, and defensively they are more efficient than Hunters except in situations where the hunters are using their reroll saves ability against an enemy that doesn't have any rend. They cost only 100 points per 3, so that might help you squeeze in a bit of heavier melee support for the dryads without breaking the bank.

Well, in the end they said that the players could share out their battleline units so I only needed 1 unit of Tree Revanants and the rest was all Kurnoth.

They did really well, killed Archaon, load of chaos heroes, 2 squads of chaos warriors and 1 squad of chosen. Didn't really get to use Alarielle because I was too scared of the Thundertusk and Archaon. BTW that formation which does D6 mortal wounds on the charge is horrible and that ice breath thing as well. That one guy pretty much single handedly kept his team in the game because otherwise we really did have them. I also failed Alarielle's roll for her Spirit Paths (why she doesn't auto pass this I do not know) so I wasn't able to attack the idol.

But we managed to win purely because Archaon was dead and Alarielle lived. I think if the game had gone on then they probably would have won. They still had a lot of thundertusk monsters left and the Skaven gatling ogres were causing havoc in our rear. Most of my Kurnoth were dead due to thundertusk.
