I had been considering using both in my devoted of sigmar list but i just can't see how the excelsior warpriest is worth the same amount of points. His prayer has less options, he has less attacks with worse weapons and he can't take a warhorse to speed up. Don't get me wrong his model is far cooler and if the gryph hound was free then I'd consider it a closer contest but unfortunately it just seems to me the exclesior warpriest doesn't match up. So i'll probably put him on my war altar to give a cool looking arch lector!

The excelsior is bad , bad, bad. don't ever use this model unless you have an order bound army desperately looking for some sort of healer for your monsters

The only usage I could see is if you desperately need some anti-chaos with his ability, but yeah he needs a point reduction.
