Hello! I noticed when making lists that I have armies that are completely close combat orientated. Sure I have things like Ungor Raiders or Savage Orruks (not the Bonesplittaz version) for some shooting in my brayherds and destruction armies, but I can't field a predominately shooty army. I made a goal to form a list that has nothing but shooting and found the Wanderers...

2500
Waystone Pathfinders WSB
1 Nomad Prince
1 Spellweaver
2 Wayfinders
1 Waywatcher
20 Glade Guard
20 Glade Guard
20 Sisters of the Watch
20 Sisters of the Watch
5 Sisters of the Thorn
5 Sisters of the Thorn

Comes out to exactly 2500 and holds no close combat units. The ranged attacks from these guys aren't terrible either. Glade Guard have a nice 20" range and can once per game have all their shots be -3 rend, which can be devastating to enemy heroes. The Sisters of the Watch have a slightly shorter range at 18" but can shoot twice if they didn't move and have Overwatch. Sisters of the Thorn are a great unit, fast and killy with 2 shots per model with a -1 rend, albeit with a 9" range, plus they can cast/unbind a spell! Two Wayfinders gives 6d6 -1 rend shots at 20" once per game, Spellweaver can bring back models, Nomad Prince gives the Battalion its cool ability and his hawk attack can give a perma -1 hit for a model it wounds but doesn't kill. The Waywatcher would be the general as his -1 to hit penalty to the enemy for pretty much the whole army is amazing and his ability to make his shots better meshes well with the theme.

With the Battalion ability the Sisters of the Watch could shoot 4 times in one battle round! Add a Deathknell Watch (which allows all rerolls to hit for all units against one unit in the enemy army) and you could really put some hurt on.

Let me know what you all think and let me know if you've had the same idea for a mostly/completely shooty army and what you've come up with.

I don't think you can just bring a Deathknell Watch.

Have you considered using waywatchers or warhawkriders from the legacy list ? Wanderers lack monsters as they are so a lord on dragon, Sisters of Twilight or Orion from that list might be considered.
Also a Waywatcher General doesn't have a command ability.. seems a suboptimal choice. (a lord on dragon has a nice ability I think).

The Waywatcher would be the general as his -1 to hit penalty to the enemy for pretty much the whole army is amazing and his ability to make his shots better meshes well with the theme. : what does this mean?

Waywatcher's command ability is "See, but do not be seen." It gives all Wanderers within 18" his "Invisible Hunter" ability.

I considered the sisters on the dragon, just because that model is amazing! Even stalked one on ebay, but thought against it...they do have decent rules but more troops is better imho. A lack of monsters is fine. There is nothing stopping you from bringing a Deathknell Watch except a talk with your opponent...not sure how TO are gonna handle it but rules as is you can bring whatever terrain you want for your army no points required, looks at sylvanyth!

Looking at Warhawk riders though...I like them, could exchange a whole Sisters of the Watch squad for a full 6 strong unit.

Idk though its 40 shots against 12 that hit and wound worse, plus they wont benefit from the battalion, plus they are a bit combat oriented and too expensive for screening duties. Cool models though and I'll now consider finding some

GODDA&£&**$

I've downloaded my warscrolls ages ago... how could I know which ones had been updated.. lol. Oko so he does have a command ability. It's only shooting though.. and most of your casualties will be in melee probably.

Warkhawk riders combine nicely with the spell weaver (regaining 4 wound models) but will probably be out of her range which is the problem. Nothing really has the damage output of the sisters of the watch but they might be a good alternative for cavalry in some lists.

Anyway:I'd just try your list and see how it works \(I don't have the waystone pathfinders scroll so hard for me to know exactly what it does).

You might lack troops to push into enemy zone and take objectives there. You could consider Rangers for that combined with monster slaying.
