In honor of the brand new Angel's Blade campaigns, I have the makings of a Blood Angels alliance with the Mechanicus.

Primary Detachment - Cohort Cybernetica

Tech Priest Dominus
Volkite Blaster // Macropistol // Autocaduceus of Arkhan Land

Cybernetica Datasmith x2

Kastelan Robot x4
Incendine Cumbustors // Hvy Phosphor Blasters

Secondary Detachment - Skitarii Maniple

Skitarii Vanguard x5
Radium Carbines

Skitarii Vanguard x5
Radium Carbines

Onager Dunecrawler
Neutron Laser // Hvy Stubber

Secondary Detachment - Baal Strike Force

Sanguinary Priest
Inferno Pistol // The Angel's Wing

Tactical Marines x5
Hvy Flamer // Drop Pod

Tactical Marines x5
Hvy Flamer // Drop Pod

Assault Marines x5
Jump Packs // Flamer x2 // Power Weapon

Death Company x5
Jump Packs // Power Lances x5 // Bolt Pistols x5

Vanguard Veterans x5
Jump Packs // Lightning Claws x2 // Inferno Pistols x2 // Hand Flamers x2 // Bolts and Chains x2

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Thanks for checking out the list!

So, for fluff reasons, I decided to give Drop Pods and Jump Packs to all of my Blood Angels. I think in most games at this point level, I will end up having almost all of my Blood Angels starting in Reserves, at the very least I'll have the 1st turn Tactical Squad to help me out with ObSec.

The Warlord will be my Tech Priest Dominus nestled snugly in one of the most unkillable Death Stars that don't use any Psykers. The relic plus the formation rules mean that the Kastelan Robots will enjoy: Toughness 7 // 3 Wounds // 3+ Armor // 5++ Repulsor Grid // FnP // IWND // Master of Machines from the Dominus restoring a single wound on one model on a 2+. Their lovely Heavy Phosphor Blasters and Torrent flamers (with a Bolt weapon profile) are particularly great against the tournament meta consisting of lots MEQs and lots of bikes.

The Sanguinary Priest will use his relic to make models snapshoot at the Vanguard Veterans the turn the show up. He is kitted with an Inferno Pistol to bring his unit's Melta shots to 3, in addition to their twin Hand Flamers. The idea is to have them hopefully pop some sort of expensive vehicle, then spend the rest of the game trying to make back their points by charging stuff. The Death Company lack this bonus from the relic. I could use my spare 50pts for some teleport homers or something to make sure they don't scatter, however I also like the idea of them starting on the board since I expect a lot of fire might be directed towards the Cohort Cybernetica.

Skitarii Vanguard make a great meat shield so they will likely be all they do: catch bullets. If I instead choose to maybe screen my Cohort with some Blood Angels, I could always divert the small Vanguard squads towards sitting on Objectives, hopefully Objectives near good cover.

I really like the Lost Brotherhood Strike Force but all those elite units definitely cost me quite a bit of man power. I love the idea of spamming Death Company squads though.

One of my options is to upgrade the Bolt Pistols on the Tactical Sergeants to Inferno Pistols. That and a Lightning Claw/Power Fist combo on the Vanguard Veteran Sergeant. That alone brings me to 1850pts. I just don't know if it can stand up to a Tau Gundam list or Wraithknight spam.

How well would this Baal Strike Force fare? Would it be wiser to ditch the Skitarii Maniple and bring in the weighty Angel's Blade? There's a gak ton of tax from the Furiosos, Tactical Squad, and other stuff.

Lost brotherhood strike force: 2 dc chaplains, 3x 5man jump pack DC with hidden PF, DC dread in a pod costs 830 points (comparing in to your BA detachment). You could squeeze an aux choice of grav bikers. If you lack the models then it's a bit of downer to change.

My thoughts on the current layout, ( I can comment only on the BA detachment) your DC and VV are expensive with amount of upgrade spam, they are bullet magnets so I would drop few PW to have more sacrificable bodies.

If I had to choose inside the exact 125 margin with tacticals, I'd take the HF inside a rhino and rush toward objectives. For podding suicide I'd want atleast a combi on the sergeant to partner the HF or melta and combi-melta.

Hope this has any help honing your BA detachment.

Hey sorry to necro this thread! I was very busy/sick for the Halloween Weekend

I took another look at the LBSF and decided that it might not be the worst if I had to sacrifice my Skitarii Vanguard and Onager for an all-Death Company ally.

Lost Brotherhood Strike Force

Command

Death Company Chaplain
++Auspex

Core
Death Company Chaplain
++Auspex

Death Company Squad
++Jump Packs//Power Weapon x2

Death Company Squad
++Jump Packs//Power Weapon x2

Death Company Squad
++Jump Packs//Power Weapon x2

Death Company Dreadnought
++Blood Talons//Meltagun//Hvy Flamer//Drop Pod

Rapid Assault Force

Assault Squad
++Jump Packs//Meltagun x2

This leaves me with about 120pts or so to fiddle with. I could always add another Assault Squad in order to add more firepower and good charges. On the other hand, I could easily throw in the Skitarii Vanguard, and that's just 2 squads of 4 guys and an Alpha.

I'm just concerned I wont be able to play against lists that include Wraithknight + Jet or 2-4 Tau Gundams. I don't mind losing terribly against stuff like that, it's all the fluffier and grimdark!

I KNOWWWWW Grav is the best gun available to Imperial Factions, but I personally hate the concept of Space Marine bikers...aaaand Power Fists...they're sort of a silly concept when not used in pairs, which is prohibitively expensive.

How would this list fare against your run of the mill Demi-Company + Grav Centurions? That's the most common thing I would expect to face.
