I picked up a couple models on the swap shop here at quite a good price. They had been painted as Smurfmobiles, gathered some dust and then primed black over that. THere was hiar and dust stuck under the primer and a lot of flash from hasty sprue removal.

I, being far too lazy to attempt to strip or fix any of the model, decided I would paint it as is, in one day, and try out my weathering powders that I've never used and paint battle damage which I've never really done.

So, here it is. Coated it with the airbrush last night and finished it this evening. Not sure I care for the scratches and damage marks and I need to work on applying exhaust soot but this will do for a start. Some day I'll put a gun or something on the turret where the original broke off. Any tips are appreciated.

I painted this guy the wrong color. He was supposed to be darker but I didn't read the color on the paint pot.. Cuz I'm, you know, so smart and all. He was far enough along when I noticed I just decided to go with it.

Here he is with a few pets I just finished

Very nice!

I actually like the light colours on him, it does a good job of setting him apart. The wolves also look quite nice.

The battle damage on the vindicator is just right.

Very nice indeed. I quite like lighter Space Wolves: I painted mine in the same manner as the Wolf Guard in the 'Eavy Metal Masterclass book which is very similar to what you have achieved here. Bravo!

Thanks for all the nice replies. Keeps me motivated.

Here is another quicky project. (the airbrush speeds these things along) Same story as the Vindicator. This drop pod was not assembled the best and has been thickly coated with paint 2 or 3 times. There are fingerprints and glue bits all over it. As always, I'm far too lazy to do the stripping and repairs it needed so I decided to paint as quick as possible. I had work today too. This was about 2.5 hours of work. Some more experimenting with the weathering powders and im not too pleased with the burns but I'm till learning.

Very nice.

I really like how you managed to make the paint look nice and thin, even over such a mess.

I also really like the weathering

That Maori wolf emblem on his Chainsword is awesome - where'd you find the design?

It's from the Forgeworld Space Wolves decal sheet.

Here is my first group of troops. These are a bit lighter than the next groups will be. I may go back and add some damage/scratches after i practice on the next group I paint which will be done at a quicker speed. Feel free to leave me some pointers.

All looks very nice.

The only little critique I have is how the MK3 guy blends into the squad, he looks a bit out of place.

I really like that gold on a full squad.

Yeah, I guess he is a bit out of place. I wanted to see what a straight mkiii looked like as a SpaceWolf. I didn't really think about how he'd integrate. I'm working on more mix-and-match marines that incorporate pieces of all the armor variants so hopefully he will blend in better eventually.

Fantastic work all round! Love the grey you've chosen. Really making me want to paint some wolves.
