Hey y'all! I know this area of the forum is a bit dead but I've recently gotten back into the hobby and saw no better place to catalogue a newbie's swan dive into the competitive space.

Bit of background:

- Got into the hobby during the twilight of 7th edition. Saw the release of 8th but the majority of my time playing was with a small group of friends, neither of which lasted last till 9th.
- Have a solid history of competing in other titles including MtG [Modern], SSBU, and Overwatch. 40k will be my first comp tabletop,
- Located in Kansas City, MO but lack consistent transportation. Hoping the area allows for a lot of consistent high level competition considering the large events hosted here without having to travel 3+ hours on a consistent basis.
- Had 3.5k of Space Wolves before from when I played before which will be the jumping off point (found out everything has been reduced in points so this is closer to 2.5k now)

Been studying up on 10th and playing a few games on tabletop simulator to get a hang of the rules but I'm still very inexperienced in base rules, understanding of how my army has changed, and matchups (Orks and IG have been my only real games)

Jumping into my first tournament this weekend at Mindgames and Magic https://www.bestcoastpairings.com/event/HL6R652A3K. Will be posting the list I decided on taking and how it went afterwards, although i'm leaning heavily into armor until I can find more Thunderwolf Cav

4k Bren Wulfsun's renegade Space Wolfs.

I'm going to assume it'll be a horrible flaming trainwreck covered in fecal matter. That way if it's anything better than that I'll be pleased, and if it's a horrible flaming trainwreck covered in fecal matter I'm already mentally ready to deal with it.
