Any one try using the Gundam Markers on the plastic BattleTech minis? Or any other plastic minis besides Gunplas? Did you have to do a basecoat or primer first? and how did it work out? Anyone's thoughts on it are welcome, I would like a bit of consultation before starting to experiment myself.

Do you mean the paint ones? I assume those are what you mean.
I have some here I could try on a mech, but I do not think it would be worth it.
The paint itself is slightly thicker than miniature paint, it is even recommended to use a brush for detail work. But it is good for flat panels onto bare plastic. It doesn’t go nice with a primer as the paint itself isn’t made for the primer often used in miniature hobby.

The tips are also quite big also, so you would need a brush to get it into any details. So it would be like having a fancy pot of paint in the end.
Just not really a product made for this purpose, Fantastic for gunpla!

That would be my thoughts on the ones I have.

If you were using to brush on, it works like any other paint.
