Gifts of Mork - Gamers Give eBay Event September 2011 = =

Gifts of Mork, In Conjunction with eBay for Charity/Missionfish Presents == ==

Gifts of Mork has been working hard in the organising, what we hope to be the largest, charity auction event that has ever been attempted, This event runs from September 23rd to September 30th 2011

The most exciting part of it all is that you can all be part of it, it’s easy to participate, and it will benefit the charities of your choice, it will be 100% risk free, and any money that you donate will go directly to the charity of your choice, and will be a way for you to actively help those charities that you hold dear to your hearts.

Sound good so far? What’s the catch I hear you ask?

The answer is simple, there is no catch, all that we ask of you is that for one (or more) of your eBay auctions you simply select to use the eBay for charity option and donate a percentage (or all) of the profit of your sale to a charity you choose.

But you already give privately to charity, so why take part?

We are aware that many of the gaming community at large already sell things that support a chosen charity, what we are asking you to do is to co-ordinate with us your fund raising efforts, or If you have never used eBay charity auction facility you try it for the first time and give a little bit to a deserving charity, by joining us on the Gamers Give Event you will not only raise some funds for your chosen charity, but with the support and help from eBay and Missionfish, this event will help raise awareness to the charities you want to see helped, which I’m sure you will agree will help them out considerably.

We hope to be able to get people from every continent in the world to run a Gifts Of Mork Gamers Give Auction, starting on the same day at around the same time, running for the same duration, ending around the same time, and at the end of it all, report back to us the final total amount that your auction(s) raised and details of which charity benefited from your efforts, and once this has been done we and eBay and any other organisation we manage to bring on board in supporting us will announce to the world a grand total that gamers around the globe helped to raise for charity in one single minute of a day.

Fantastic Idea! What do I have to do to be part of it all?

Simply contact us via our blog Here or via email Here and register with us your intent to take part, let us know if you plan to sell an item or if you want to support us in other ways that will fantastic, just let us know, It’s that easy, we hope that ebay and Missionfish will have a page up and running nearer the event.

I’m not a war gamer can I still take part?

Although this idea was conceived by people within the gaming community it would be irresponsible of us to deny anyone the opportunity of joining in and raising much needed funds for charity, so yes anyone who is selling any item on eBay can take part, simply follow the instruction above on how to take part. Additionally if you’re not a seller you can still help when you buy an item just select the donate to charity option on your checkout page.

I’ve never used eBay for charity, in a nutshell, what is it?

eBay for Charity is an easy way for buyers and sellers on eBay.co.uk to support their favourite charities. Buyers can shop for items knowing they’re supporting a good cause, be it an everyday bargain or a special auction. Sellers, whether they’re individuals or businesses, can donate a percentage from any sale to a charity of their choice and add Gift Aid to their donations. Charities can also sell their own items directly on eBay.co.uk. In addition, all eBay for Charity items will qualify for a fee credit on basic insertion and final value fees equal to the percentage donated.

eBay for Charity partners with MissionFish. Who?

MissionFish is a registered charity (No. 1110538) that helps other charities raise funds online. In late 2005, eBay invited MissionFish to help build a programme which could offer the eBay.co.uk community the chance to support charities when buying and selling on eBay. MissionFish offers invaluable support to eBay in many areas: providing the technology that makes eBay for Charity possible, certifying charities to participate in the eBay for Charity programme, collecting donations from eBay sellers, claiming Gift Aid on those gifts, and distributing donations and Gift Aid to the benefiting charities. How do I support a charity when I sell? You can support a charity whenever you sell an item. When you’re listing the item, just choose the charity you want to support and the percentage you want to give. You can support charities when shopping by buying items marked with the eBay for Charity ribbon, or by making a donation to a featured charity when you pay for an item through eBay Checkout.

How can I tell that and eBay auction is a charity auction?

Every eBay for Charity item is marked with a blue and yellow charity ribbon in search results and in the item listing title. Within the listing, you will find the name of the benefiting charity and the percentage of the final sale price the seller is donating.

How does the money I donate get to the charity?

After an eBay for Charity listing ends, the seller receives payment from the buyer as normal. MissionFish will then collect the donation from the seller and pass it on to the seller’s intended charity. If the item is being sold by a charity, the charity simply keeps the money you have paid for the item.

How can I be sure the money will get to the charity?

eBay for Charity: · Keeps a close eye on the giving process to ensure every seller makes the donation they promised. · Makes sure that every donation reaches a charity as intended · Checks every participating charity’s legal status and makes sure they meet our community standards against violence and hate.
