User:Maverick

I'll start with a bit about me.

Interesting Fact about Maverick: Number 1. I don't actually dream in colour. I see no colour in my dreams at all. Or sound, there's no sound in my dreams.

I collect an Elysian Drop Troops army, and a Blood Ravens Chapter force. In other games, I collect an Imperial Squadron for Aeronautica Imperialis, and I've taken to playing Necromunda of late. I do love a good bit of Necromunda, even if I have to use guardsmen as models (I tend to play arbites to at least explain the model choice).

I'm a Dakka Member more for the chat and banter, rather than any actual useful insights - I'm always up for helping out a Guardsman or Imperial in need, though.

Also, I've got a bit of a soft spot for Tau armies of late, and I'm thinking of starting one. I have a few Tau miniatures to give me some OPFOR in small scale skirmish matches (usually to lend to others for small matches at the flat, to recruit others to the hobby), and I want to expand that.

I'm quite into taking forces that suit my personal preferences for warfare. I'm aspiring RAF, so I tend to base my forces around air power. Hence the Elysians. My Cadian regiment is heavily tank and track based, so my tactics tend to be based around mobile warfare. I think part of the reason I like Tau, is because they really suit the tactics I like to use. I feel that marking targets with markerlights, then knocking the stuffing through them with seeker missiles as THEY advance to YOU is highly appealing, and as I'm very much a shooty army player, having the enemy advance to me under the withering fire provided by tau guns is a very much enjoyable scenario. I like to kit my shooty armies out with as many infantry models as possible, as this provides a lot of individual shots, and you can just swamp the enemy with ammunition before they can get to you. Rapid fire weapons are a must for playing swarm armies, as the sheer amount of numbers means that you need to have a backup when they get close. Especially when playing as Tau, because your CC skill is.... well, it's non-existant.

Best of luck, Mav.
