heya im a imperial guard player i named my guard amry the imperial iron fist as the porduct will be as armoured as i can i do not have much fora guard army only 1800 points but i do get it bit by bit soo i can keep up to date wiv my painting and not rush thimgs.
I also do a black templar army as i call them the blood templars i just started them 2 weeks ago and i got a lot of second hand stuff oso it is my little side restoration project to go along side my imperial guard.
i like to use veterans as they have a better amror save and there more likely to get rather than the 5+.
the reason i choose this becuase all standerd weapons for example a bolter S4 AP 5 guards men would get there amror saves so it is worth payin the 20 points more for thr extra BS and armor save of 4+ and better range of weaponry, tho they do not get eny special orders but it is worht the lose of them this has worked in all my guard battles espeicaly tau with the awsome high strengh of weaponry .
i like to use storm troopers to get behind the enemy and and start layin down fire while the veterans have a chance to go get the objective or to get into cover and wait for the enmy to come to them.
i man 4 leman russ's max in eny army for so i have the extra slot for eny other hevay support i need exmaple basilisks or griifon mortar tank, i have 2 battle tanks for support fire and 2 demolishers to go forward and help the forward flanks of my veterans and use the extremly powerful demolisher cannon to my advantage tho its short range does prove a problem and so does lumbering behomoth but while i go forward i use my hullmounted lascannon and start taking wounds/ enemy armour out while i slowly move along the game board with the veterans.
